...i often see people hitting 'favorite' on posts that are otherwise getting FAQ hits,
i mean, MAYBE they think that's really a great post they want to give props to, but i suspect that 99% of the time,
they don't understand the difference/are mistakenly hitting the '+' (to favorite a post)
instead of the FAQ button to promote it for FAQ/Errata response by Paizo.
it seems like the website could really make that more clear, perhaps by having a dialog box when you hit '+'/Favorite?
or to make it idiot-proof, why not just count Favorites of posts as FAQ hits, on posts that otherwise have received FAQ hits?
(not double-counting FAQs and (+) Favorites from the same user on a single post)
for that matter, sometimes different posts in a thread will receive FAQ hits, but i'm not sure if there's any way for paizo to be aware of these posts other than their individual ranking in FAQ hits per post. perhaps each thread could also be ranked in how man FAQ hits have showed up in that thread, with the website only counting a single user once regardless of how many posts they hit FAQ for in that thread...?

I don't think this answers your question, but it helps - I've been told that there was a new system going in place to address FAQ's this year to get FAQ's answered on a more regular basis.
Aside from that, I completely agree - I think the way I found out about FAQ's was by accident. Everyone knows how to click the Like button, though.

Sorry for the thread necro, but what FAQ button? Such a thing doesn't show up for me at all.
The FAQ "button" was removed years ago. It used to show up as part of the "FLAG | LIST | REPLY" links that you can see right above this post. It worked similarly to liking a post, but it helped Paizo employees see which topics had the most people interested in getting Errata/Clarifications.
