Has anyone considered the Raygun Lounge? It's just off I-5 Downtown. Here's their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Raygun-Lounge/350346401718425
Don't know about food, but they are certainly well acquainted with Paizo.
Raygun Lounge would be hard-pressed to contain the first PaizoCon meet & greet—it's a small venue.

ALLLLLLL Right
More new updates:
Permit from the city is pending.
Caterer is lined up, bot not yet booked. Mobile grill masters who do rub bbq. Menu is not exact, but will include vegan, veggie, and gluten free options.
Sound system is good to go.
Tents, tables, chairs. Lined up, waiting to book.
Fireworks...check.
Private shuttle bus between the hotel and the park 10 minutes away...lined up, but not yet booked.
Ice sculpture...is a possibility?
What the event is waiting on is two things.
1. The permit from the local city. The park has a size limit I estimated to them might be exceeded. They may grant the permit regardless of this.
2. A majority of the above services are being handled for me on a barter basis...where I trade fireworks for services. Finese and haggle take time. I should know more on the finality of everything by the middle of May. Actually...no latter then May 11th.
IF the event ends up being hosted at this park, known as Chestnut Ridge in Kent, WA, there are a few things to keep in mind.
1. I own one of the houses adjacent to the park. To get the caterer there, they will be on my property instead of the parks property. This has to do with health inspection regulations required for caterers at public location vs. a privately catered event. Food will be, literally, right next to the park.
2. The event will be a BYOB. Coolers with ice will be made available. Keep in mind it will be a family atmosphere.
3. Food service will begin sometime between 4 and 6 pm, and last 2 hours. To finagle the caterer to come on the 4th...he would like to be out of there in time to make it home for his own party. Hence a possible start time of 4 - 6 diner service.
4. I am pondering on how the shuttle bus will work exactly...all I know is I can get one and it will make it a ton easier on folks to get to and from the event from the hotel. HOWEVER...when we get this all figured out, the more people that can shuttle themselves+1 the better. There is a decent amount of parking at the park and on the road behind it. Directions to that parking will be provided.
This is all pending thoughts...based upon the city of Kent granting the permit.
The reason I have gone to the lengths described above...is because this event is on the 4th of July and I haven't thrown my own 4th of July party yet...and I work in the fireworks industry.
I expect that this event, being on the 4th of July, will be a one time thing...afterwards it will be far easier to find a suitable location because we won't have the meet and greet on the 4th of July again for quite some time.
ANYWAY...
Long post...
Any feedback, comments, questions, requests, guidance, assistance, and/or additional etc's I didn't think to ask for...is all welcome. I'll do my best to stay appraised of this thread.

Kyle-
Thsnk you ever so much for putting the time and effort in attempting to make this event happen. I know for me I greatly appreiate it as this will be my first PaizoCon ever. I would be more than happy to contribute to this event in any way I can.
One question I do have is that my plane arrives at 4:25pm and so most likely I will be arriveing to the Meet and Greet by 5:30pm. Is this too late for the event?

Hey Jester
The event I am planning shall start from whenever people want to arrive...till about 11-11:30 pm, as that is when I plan the fireworks will end.

Greetings friends of the Meet and Eat!
I am currently planning on attending the event, but I get into Seattle at 8pm on Thursday via Amtrak. I am wondering if there is anyone who would be down for a pickup from the PaizoCon hotel to and from the event. Of course, gas will be donated, but I am wondering if anyone would be down for it?
Feel free to leave a message either here, or PM me by clicking on the link attached to me. :D Thanks!

To be honest, I wasn't thrilled with the Claim Jumper place we went last year. The food was fine, but the atmosphere wasn't conducive to getting together in a big group.
We need a place that has a special banquet room, or banquet tables that can seat a bunch of people together in one place so they can socialize. Last year some of us wore green shirts to delineate who was a Con member since we were just randomly dispersed throughout the bar area.
If we can get a place that has a back party room or something like that, I would love it. Now, around the SeaTac Marriott? I'm not sure. Korean Restaurants usually have big group seating, but they get busy pretty quick with the large Korean population.
To be honest, the location of the last PaizoCon in Redmond was better for extracurriculars, but this venue should hopefully be nicer with less of a roaring din in the game rooms making it hard to hear at the tables.
There is a Sharp's Roaster not too far from there that might work, but I cannot recall if it has a banquet room.
13 Coins is legit, but expensive and more intimate, not such a big group-type place
If you head north and cross over 518 there are some more places. There is a pretty good Indian restaurant as I recall and we could probably get them to put the tables in the middle together into a group.
The area is such a pseudo-industrial zone, you would almost have to head to Federal Way, or north to Seattle to get into some more restaurant digs. I guess the question is:
How far does anyone want to drive? 10 minutes?

You absolutely rock!
Put out a glass jar so some of us can toss in some contributions to the catering?
My flight (and a buddy's) arrives at 5:30pm on the 4th. There's room if someone needs a ride to the hotel for a quick drop-off and a trip to the park.

The park has a covered barn, with fully functional and operating his and her bathrooms.
On top of that..."overflow" can be handled at my location. The permit may require additional honey buckets...but I rent so many of those each year for setting up my fireworks stands I get a discount.
I am planning on the event size being between 100-150, and if more appear...there are back up plans in place to provide more food.

I wouldn't call it a full time job...I'd call it self employment. There's a massive difference.
ANYWAY
So...
First draft rejected by the city. Just got the email back today.
This is where I need feedback from everyone.
I was trying to avoid moving a majority of the event onto my property...this way it wasn't a party at someones house and that stigma would be negated.
The options we have now is to:
1. Resubmit with more of the "event" located on my property. The park would still be involved in some fashion, but most of the tents and seating/tables would be on my private property versus the public park. We might also just get a permit to close off the last half of the street for a "block party" feel instead/as well.
2. The parks department recommended another park "nearby". A park named Van Doren's Landing. It is located at 21901 Russell Road, Kent, WA . It is 5 minutes closer to the hotel then my location, but would still require private transportation (which is already in the plan). This would also LIKELY exclude any fireworks display. I say likely because...there's a permit for everything.
So...honest feedback is needed on how to proceed. I will be pursuing both avenues until feedback drives it one way or the other.
Update posted.
As for all the offers of help and donations...ohhhh trust me, y'all will be involved the moment this dance with the permitting is handled. Then we can begin on how the community can build this event up themselves and make it a true meet and greet.

If this is a public park - what is the threshold number of people "on sight" required to create the necessity of a permit? i.e. If I plan on 10 friends to meet me at a park in my town and do a cookout - that doesn't require a permit. Fifty people meh, maybe need one, but who's to say five groups of 10 didn't have the same idea at the same location at the same time - and especially on the the 4th of July?
So, what is the body count number of people necessary to warrant a permit? It may not be necessary unless you got a firm number of "Yes, I plan to show up to your Meet and Eat 2013, Mr. Big Kyle"Secondly, would a police officer roll by seeing said bunch of people in a park and think to him or herself, "Huh, thats a lot of people over there having fun on the 4th of July in that public park. I better check it out and make sure they have a permit for all them folks to be together, or else I'm going to make them disburse."
(These are honest questions because I don't deal with these kinds of things and am genuinely curious. I'm not throwing out ideas for finding loop holes.)

Big Kyle This is a post I copied that I wrote in the forum Pre-Con Games. This may be a simpler approach for everyone, since this would be located at the hotel. The one change I would suggest (from my post copied below) is having a optional buffet with a per head price for those that want to eat. An average per person price for food would be say $7-10 including the non-alcoholic drink.
Here is my post (not all the post is included but the applicable part is) from the Pre-Con Games post;
I talked to Seattle Airport Marriott's Brittany Butterfield (Front Desk Manager) on 4/24/13 at 9:20 CTS, and she told me they would be glad to accommodate you all in the lobby, however she suggested you contact Debbie Soule (Event Manager) to see if there is a free boardroom available. Both of these ladies don't mind putting you (or any other gaming groups) in any of the non-booked boardrooms for free. This way they will ensure you're more comfortable gaming into the late night hours. Debbie Souls's phone number is (206) 241-2000 X2366. I hope this helps you all out some and if a (Gaming Session) spot opens up please let me know.

I have all the information for the events that I need...and now I am in the process of getting the permits.
The event will be happening, it will be happening in Kent, and there will be transportation to and from the hotel to the event in the form of a shuttle bus of some type.
There will be a catered meal (which will be determined here shortly...but it will be grilled BBQ style with an assortment of meats, fish, and dietary differences for those who are gluten/vegan/vegetarian imbibers).
There will be alcohol, it will be kid friendly, and fireworks are a maybe (depends upon final location and fire marshal approval).
All said and done...I am trying to make plans for 150 people.
What I need from people...and please get everyone you know to come and post here and let me know if they are attending...is a rough estimate of people who would like to make it.
If there are more then 150...the caterer will have some extra food on hand...but unlike a restaurant, they don't carry a huge stock with them...so the number of attendees is going to make a HUGE impact on that portion of the event.

The official start time will be 5 pm.
However, the location will be available for people to show up at and hang out far earlier then that.
The last "bus" back to the hotel will probably be around midnight.
Thanks, Big Kyle. My flight gets in around 3:30, so you can add me to the list.
