Gelatinous cube, engulf and acid damage

Rules Questions

So a gelatinous cube does 1d6 damage from acid and has the ability to engulf a creature.

The acid rules say that exposure to acid does 1d6 damage and immersion (such as in a vat) does 10d6.

When engulfed, you are subject to acid damage ... so does that mean when the cube engulfs you, you are subject to 10d6 acid damage (along with all yourgear) as you are pretty much immersed?

I would have to say no.

Looking at the cube's description it states

"Engulfed creatures are subject to the cube’s
paralysis and acid, gain the pinned condition, are in danger
of suffocating, and are trapped within its body until they are
no longer pinned"

which means that you are only subject to the 1D6 that the cube does.

I believe it means subject to the normal Acid (Ex) ability that the cube has, which is 1d6.

Just to give a 3rd time's the charm, I would also agree with Kantas and Grick. It would be subject to the Cube's 1d6 acid damage. If you decided to upgrade the cube's base acid damage to 2d6 or whatever then that damage would be subject to the engulfed creature.

The cube is a creature that uses acid, it is not a walking vat of acid.
