Tangletooth: bite +6 (1d6+3 plus trip)?

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

What does this mean? Make a bite to hit roll and a trip roll? Or a trip roll if the bite hits? Or does he chose between bite/trip?

Sovereign Court

If you hit with your bite attack you get to do two things, first roll damage and second roll CMB to make a trip attempt.

Tangletooth just shredded my parties fighter last night, good times indeed.

But yes, if your bite hits then roll damage, then roll for a trip.

From the Universal Monster Rules section:

"Trip (Ex) A creature with the trip special attack can attempt to trip its opponent as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity if it hits with the specified attack. If the attempt fails, the creature is not tripped in return.

Format: trip; Location: individual attacks."
