Stop Tracking Option

Website Feedback

I absolutely love the new ability to stop tracking new posts on threads. I don't know how long it has been operating, but I think it is relatively new. KUDOS!!!!

What dictates whether or not a thread has this option? I never saw it before today but this morning far less than half of the threads show the 'X' to stop tracking.

We just rolled out that feature yesterday.

It should be visible on every thread that has an "x new."

And "x new" counts posts since I last read a thread, so we can't stop tracking threads we haven't read at least once, correct?

Sometimes it will pop up (X new) on brand-new posts you haven't read; I've found you can't click the new little x to make those go away until you actually do read them.

Otherwise seems to be working awesomely. Nice addition Gary =D

I think I'm going to remove the "x new" for brand-new threads since there's now an even tighter binding between "x new" and "thread I am actually interested in."

Is there a way to completely remove a campaign from your "campaigns" tab? I had to drop out of one a while back and it's still on my list, even though I don't play in it anymore.

You can send the GM a private message asking them to mark you as inactive, or you can hide the gameplay thread. To hide the gameplay thread, find it in the Play by Post forum and click the circle-with-a-slash on the far right.

Thanks a ton, Gary!

This is a VERY handy feature. The only improvement I would like to suggest would be to add a bit more horizontal space in between the 'X' and the '# new' links to reduce the chance of accidentally clicking on the wrong one — particularly on mobile devices.

Is there anyway to get the location of the "x" moved? Maybe to the end of the thread title or something? I think I've fat-fingered the X about four different times using my phone.

Placement of the x on mobile devices is definitely sub-optimal and will be improved as we continue to improve the layout on phones.

Is there a way to start tracking new posts again if one say hit the 'x' in error?

Just clicking on the thread to start reading it has worked for me.

This. Just open the thread again, and you'll start getting (x new) notifications again.

It would be nice, down the road, to have the option to remove one's dot from a thread one posted in but no longer has an interest in. That used to be resolved by a thread falling into the archives, but now there are no archives so if you post in a thread one time, it never leaves your Focus view.

I *just* noticed this feature and was about to post a thank you for putting it in!

Love it, Love it, Love it! Some of the most active threads are also some of the most annoying to see popping up (and the "new" really catches my eye).

Thanks PMG!
