As for the multiple threads thing, I think I like it.
It gives us a way to have multiple conversations on without having to hold back for fear of leaving certain parties feeling 'overwhelmed'.

I like it too. It is less confusing for me and makes it easier for me to keep track of what conversation is happening in what place and prevents someone from responding to something that wasn't actually said in their presence.

Since most of the action happens with the entire group, but certain scenes progress separately, I think multiple threads is a good idea. I find that organization easier than trying to track the "retcon" tags in separate posts.

I have no real argument in favour or against multiple threads - think I would rather have only one but both are fine by me.
Now... Regarding math and Calculus... Been there also many years ago, and believe it or not I am there again (after a crazy idea of going back to Uni some more after all these years).
And no LM, no joke - my job is driving me insane beyond the usual job insanity :D

I'm not sure I follow the multiple threads issue. Is that basically meaning a new thread for each "chapter" of the story or main location in the campaign, or is the threading related to the group splitting up and heading in different directions for a short period?
My only issue with the latter would be the potential for widening time differentials where one group progresses swiftly and the other more slowly. It might make it difficult to re-integrate when on multiple threads (then again, it might make it easier as Munair mentioned). On the other hand, it would certainly be easier to follow the group one is participating with.
Question re: current combat. Is there a map with our locations? Since it looks like one enemy is deceased, I was wondering where those of us freed up from that combat would be best to go.

No, in this case, I would be creating a thread for each major location, such as the Camp, the areas of the Desolation, the city itself, etc. If the party has to split up, we can handle that through the use of PMs or, if in groups, we can use the discussion thread if need be.
As for the current combat, Numair created a map the other day, but he said he wouldn't be able to update it until sometime today. Here is the post that Numair made to link the map. The only real changes since then is that Elen and Ally are now in the kitchen, Macavity is moving to your location, and there's a dead gnome bleeding out on Numair's bed.

"I will do a sweep of the perimeter Alli"
Calendir steps back into the house to fit his armor and weapons, then leaves with Lagash in toe, heading to the privy first to search the area.
I think putting armor takes some time.
I think the Hanged Man got gnome for supper. "Got Gnome!"

Can we get a Round 4 summary and identify the players that we are waiting for?
thanks
PS Happy Monday!
At this point, we are out of combat. We have one gnome confirmed dead, another that is presumably dead, and the last one seeing spots before her eyes. I could add something about dead parrots at this point, but I think that would be beating a nearly-dead horse or something...
Ruul Spiritskin
Oh, I should update that...
Cleric 6. I plan on staying cleric for the foreseeable future unless something within the party changes.
Elen Emerwen
Woohoo! Level up!
Elen will take another level of Witch, the Flight hex, a point to Int, the spells Charm Monster and Enervation, and gain the spell Wandering Star Motes from her patron. Do we use average HP or roll?
In case we roll: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Ack. Hope it's OK to take average instead.
If I can take average instead, I'll put favored class bonus to skill point and have 8 ranks.

How'd you pick spells so fast Elen? Too many choices. LOL - Look at Cloud Shape. Think I could get a peek inside TSAR with that one? Of course it would be nice to have more uses than just one for a spell... Any recommendations for me? One must be conjuration and I likely should not pick Necromancy or Enchantment. Which made me pleased with your choice of one of each.:)
Elen Emerwen
Oh my!! A level! Hmmmmm what should I add? Ranger would be the obvious choice - anyone has any suggestions?
A second level in fighter would get you a bonus feat and Bravery. A 7thbonus level in ranger would get you woodland stride, and a 2nd level ranger spell if you use the stat boost for wisdom.
Horizon walker could be a very interesting choice if you have the required skills.

I gotta admit, since my main contribution to the group is ranged mayhem - against Dragons namely :D - I had pondered questioning LM about changing characters to a Zen Archer, but I don't want to throw much confusion into the group dynamics :D

Lavinia is leveled up. Yet another level of cleric, of course. :)
The extra ability point went into charisma. Now I'm sure Ruul will find her even more adorable. ;)
Just marked my new spell slots as being empty since I haven't done the praying for spells thing yet today.

Hanged man seems to be on our side, or at least not against us. He did retrieve a wayward gnome for us...
Azaraunt leveled in Diabolist. I think he needs to eventually gain 5 levels so that he can be raised without a contest if he dies. Two saves increased (Fort and Ref) as well as his BAB. Stat point into Int of corse.
His two new 4th level spells are Mages Faithful Hound (in honor of the gnomes -
Every night he can cast it before he beds down if he had a 4th level remaining to convert) and Firefall - This spell has one of the largest areas I have ever heard of - 60' radius for fire damage and 120' radius for potential blindness. And long range to boot. It does require a flame source so its pretty situational. But if we come across a camp of anything with a fire somewhere in the camp, and we wanna piss them all off at once, I got just the spell.
Imbukar gains skill points and a feat TBD.
Ruul Spiritskin
I didn't really go into detail about the level up but since we're sharing...
+STR
+1 to all saves
+9 HP
+1 diplomacy
+1 intimidate
+1 perception
+1 spellcraft
+2nd level spell slot
+3rd level spell slot

Haven't had yet the opportunity to update Calendir profile > will do so tonight probably.
@Ruul: I was not saying that rangers are not cool, simply that with the combo of abilities this amazing group has, for him there is only Survival, and I am not sure he is the best at it ;)

Azaraunt's profile is updated, with the exception of a feat for Imbukar. Was looking at fly-by-attack but that will likely get him into trouble. :) I could go stealthy, but he does not need the stealth boost. Ideas? Thinking about Lightning reflexes. That increases his survivability and complements his evasion.

Deepsight requires your race Macacity. Otherwise I would strongly consider it. I looked at Detect Expertise. As a spy/scout this could come in handy. Its a DC 15 will save though - most creatures at our level make that often. Go Unnoticed is less good for Imbukar who hopes to be invisible at the start of every encounter. Of course he could hide from someone who can see invisibility I guess.
Extra Cantrips is one I like and had not considered. Herolab won't let me take it though as his cantrips are actually spell like abilities. Oh well. Thanks for the ideas.

With enemies like Malerix, having another tough warrior who can put very good DPR at long ranges is essential. As an archer, you can get off full attacks in pretty much every round.
I can think of many different encounters where having your combination of abilities (archery, favored enemy, and animal companion) will be greatly beneficial to the party.
If you were to take more levels in Fighter, the Archer archetype is pretty cool and can let you do some nifty status effects at range. Alternatively, you could take Grenadier alchemist and put poison & bombs on your arrows. You could take ranger to continue to improve your favored enemy and companion, or take a level in any number of other classes.
In the end, do what you'd enjoy playing. That's just as important as what role you fulfil in the group! (and for the record, I think that role is grizzled veteran - a dirty Harry type)
