Advice

I've been given a chance to build an epic level character for a romp through hell. The rules are that we gestalt for 20 levels and get an additional 12 levels to add to one side of the gestalt. We also have access to all 3rd party material on the SRD. Any 3rd party classes I should consider?

Let me get this straight: you have level 32 features in one class and level 20 features in another? What rules are you using for determining what features a given class grants beyond 20th level?

We have to Multi-class, so we just use the class features from those classes. I know it seem high-powered, But the GM assures us that it will still be challenging.

You're probably going to be fighting lucifer if I had to guess but even if not that would be a great example of the worst that is down there. At any rate going into hell, being something built to fight evil would be a good idea, so might I suggest an asimir paladin for your 32 levels? And I think the point that the last person was trying to make is if you're going up to 32 levels in one class how are you determining the class features you will get after level 20? Oh and for the other class I would suggest wizard or sorcerer, if you don't gain any new class powers past 20 then maybe your dm will be open to letting you take a prestige class like mystic theurge? Sorry I can't comment on 3rd party classes, my group disallows them except for very special occasions, maybe look into godlings?

Won't matter if the GM puts you up against Orcus. You won't even have time to act and it'll be Save or die, Save or die, Save or die. Good luck. Sounds like fun; for the players. Sounds like hell for the GM. That's a lot of stuff to keep track of unless he does just put you up against single big baddies.

Ummmm, yeah. Lucifer is even worse. Sheesh!

Hmmmm....I'm thinking a whole party of Rogue/Clerics. Gonna need an update on this.

My problem with super high level games? Its over too quick, every one can do a s*%@ ton of damage and kill their enemies in one full round. Its a whole lot of work for quick kills
