Robert Hawkshaw wrote:Not shipping news, but reaper has posted the MSRP for Kaladrax and Nethyrmaul ($75) and Cthulhu ($40).If you're scoring at home, the Kickstarter price for Kaladrax works out to an 86.7% discount on MSRP.
I suspect that's because most of the retail price came from finding and commissioning suitable packaging. Which I think is a mistake, anything in soft plastic that's too big for a blister pack should just come in a plastic bag with a card header (like, for example, GW scenery). I'd be very surprised if they sell many at retail.

About that. From the Reaper boards:
current metal Kaladrax is about 3/4 pound of metal for $70. New Kaladrax would be not quite TEN POUNDS in metal if my calculations based on volume are accurate. He'd run almost a grand by the time you factored in the weight, plus twenty molds, pieces per hour cast, shipping cost, and packaging.
He is by far the largest thing we have ever done. *
*resin maiden may have been larger but we never calculated a metal cost for her so I can't compare.

About that. From the Reaper boards:
Okay, that does put it in context as about on par with the price ratio of the other Bones, if not slightly better.
Nevertheless, it's too big to be useful for gaming and I can't see many of the kind of people who would want a collector's piece being happy with one that was vinyl (even though actually, a collector's piece that was easy to transport when moving would be a pleasant change).

From Reaper's facebook page...."Our estimated ship date was March of 2013. We will begin shipping next week, which is March of 2013... who's late?"
The last comment was directed at the original subject of the facebook update, which was an Alice in Wonderland KS.

I am sorry for jinxing everyone. Obviously fate decide to send it out in the last week in order for my package to get to my house at the exact same time a different type of delivery is occurring. "Ah, honey you will be fine for another couple of hours. I have to go through this package, look a space ape! Hey stop throwing things at me. Ok, geez, I'll drive you. Just let me grab the box. Hey stop throwing!"

TOZ...just put in a Change of Address form thingie...that'll forward it to the proper address if it DOES ship too late.
I've had bad experiences with that. Like, returned packages. :/
That sounds like a completely valid thing to contact their probably overloaded customer service people about.
I will if I need to. The big question is which address to change it to, the temporary one I'll be at for a month or the one I'll be at for two. Not knowing where you're ultimately moving to is frustrating.

You might be able to get a postal box if you are going to be in the same area and have it sent there for you to pick up.

I'm almost ready to start shipping, but the biggest real news is that after crunching numbers, my estimate of this only taking 3 weeks was stupidly optimistic. This is going to take at least 5 weeks, and possibly longer. Add to that ReaperCon happening in the middle of that fulfillment, which is going to halt everything for at least a week while we do that...

I understand, and I don't think anyone will complain if your prioritise my order.

So, now I'm excited...
And the fun begins.
We sent the first test packages out yesterday to make sure our systems were working properly, we are working out the snags this morning, and will be shipping more out this afternoon!
So here are some details for you.
We will be shipping as much as we can muster everyday we can until all of the rewards are shipped.
We anticipate that this process will take us until sometime in May, 2013 to complete. There are over 18,000 backers at this point, and that’s a lot of orders to send out!
There will be a down time during our consumer appreciation show, Reaper Con. We will not be shipping any Kickstarter rewards during the duration of the show and for the two days before and after that week. So, from April 11th until April 23th there will be no activity.
Once the last rewards have shipped we will wait about a week and then we will begin shipping to distribution and making the new Bones available for general purchase for anyone that wants more or missed out entirely. So, no need to worry, you should get your backer rewards before they hit the retail shelves.
A couple of the biggest questions are. “What order are we shipping in and when will mine ship?”
We are shipping the orders with single items first (such as one Vampire Level) and working up to the most complicated orders last. This will allow us to build the order picking line over time and reduce the errors. Then, within that we are shipping in the order that you filled out the Reaper Pledge Manager, so first in, first out.
As far as when will your specific reward goes, we really can’t answer that question as there are a lot of variables to consider, but know it will be between today and sometime in May. Shy of some sort of error on the internet, you will get an email when your package(s) are processed and are being picked up by the carrier service. In most cases this will be UPS. If you are not domestic (US or Canada) it should be US postal service.
Lastly, if you need to change your address, do it now! Go back to the Reaper Pledge Manager and update your address there!
If you don’t remember or have lost your link go here:
https://www.reapermini.com/ks/
Enter the email address you used for our project and it will send your link to you again.
We all hope that you really enjoy your Reaper Bones when they arrive!
Happy gaming!
I have an elaborate order and spent some time pondering it, so I imagine I won't get my order until May.
I am still super, super excited.
:D

So how complicated is:
Your Selection:
Vampire x1 $100
Orcapocalypse x1 $25
Mind Your Manors x1 $10
Storm Giants x1 $10
Kaladrax Reborn x1 $10
Frost Giants x1 $10
Swamp Things x1 $5
BBEG x1 $5
I'm curious if this is simplistic compared to others' pledge or if I am in the more complex.
BTW...
THANK YOU REAPER!!! I cannot wait (but I will) for these to arrive :)

I think a lot of people just went for a straight vampire and nothing else.
After that, I suppose you'll have people with multiple vampires, people with a single extra... and then you get people like you and me. We're going last.
I dunno, I suspect a lot of people did a fair number of add-ons. I think when they first posted the thread almost everyone had at least a few and some folks had a bunch. The averag* order was about $200 so lots of folks with upgrades.

If people are looking to base their collection, we will be (when we reach our bases goal) offering a Vampire Bundle of bases from our KickStarter (260 bases for your 240 minis for $50).
Cheers! http://kck.st/Ym11z6

It's times like this when I'm glad I live in Texas. With my double Vampire and obscene amount of add-ons I knew I would be at the end of the line. Good news is Reaper is less than an hour away so I jumped in the truck and just drove up there to grab my Bones. (after a quick e-mail to make sure it was okay)
I now have both of my Vampires, my Cases and all the paint I needed to get me through waiting for the rest to arrive in the mail.
I must say the bones are nice though several came out pretty bent. No fear, a sink full of hot water let them straighten out to their normal shape while getting the mold powder off and ready to be painted.
My favorite so far is the spiny cat/dog mini. I shall be buying a dozen more of them as soon as I can for my next homebrew adventure.
