Hunter's Bane Talisman

What are the uses of the Hunter´s bane Talisman?

As far as I know, when a enemy who is undetected attacks, he reveals himself, going to the observed status, the effect of the talisman is worst than that.

In some rare ocasions, afeter attacking, the enemy could go from undetected to hidden (improved invisibility or something like that), the talisman would not give anything relevant in this case.

There is a corner case. The enemy is using improved invisibility and shooting invisible arrows with a spell like this https://2e.aonprd.com/Spells.aspx?ID=700. In that case, the enemy would still be undetected after attacking and the hunter´s bane would do something (you would now where the enemy is and he would not know that you know it, so he doesn´t have motives to reposition and hide again).

So, this is right and the talisman is very niche (and I would say bad)? Or did get something wrong in the rules and the talisman works in more common circumstances?

Attacking only reveals the attacker with normal Stealth in normal visibility conditions. Attacking doesn't make an invisible attacker hidden instead of undetected, assuming the invisibility itself doesn't end (heightened 4th, IOW), and invisible ammunition is not necessary. The example in the Invisible Item entry doesn't mean an invisible attacker using visible ammunition would be revealed, only that the ammo could give a searcher a direction to use the Seek action. Blindness and Darkness exist. There are also foes and monsters who are permanently invisible

So yeah, it's a niche talisman but not as bad as you paint it. Something to bring if you suspect you'll be facing an invisible foe or monster but probably not everyday gear

Horizon Hunters

If an invisible attacker attacked with a Melee attack, I would say the enemy isn't technically Hidden, but you know you were attacked from that direction and can try attacking back. They wouldn't have to Sneak to maintain their Undetected status after a Melee attack. However, if you use the Talisman, they would be forced to Sneak, and may even not notice you notice them and move normally, keeping them Hidden from you. (If you ever become Hidden while Invisible, you must Sneak to become Undetected again)
