Did you know there's currently a Pathfinder Fanfiction Contest going on over at Pathfinderchronicler.net, with *cash prizes* and a chance to get read by Paizo's Fiction Editor (yours truly)? You still have until September 30th to get your story written and turned in!
If you've ever been tempted to write Pathfinder fanfic, now's the time!

In Know Direction's Paizocon 2012 Special 007 - Community Projects Podcast (free on iTunes or anywhere else you get your podcasts), Ted Thompson announced that the second volume (which will apparently be 2 volumes) will be released at Paizocon next year. :(
If my rumor mill is off, anyone can correct me. I don't mind.

I never even knew there was a new contest! Is the Second volume ever going to come out? Loved the first one and keep looking for the next one!
Ted is taking all of Contest 2 (2011) entries, personally rewriting/editing/expanding them and splitting them into Anthology Vol. 2 & 3--which missed PaizoCon 2012--but both Contest #2/2011 Anthology Volumes are scheduled to come out at next year's PaizoCon (2013) along with Contest #3 entries in Anthology Vol #4.

I wasn't able to participate in the contest this year (horror isn't my forte, anyway). It supposedly ended last weekend, but I don't see any recent signs of life at the Pathfinder Chronicler site or forum.
No recent activity regarding the anthology(ies) either, apparently. I'm supposed to have a couple of stories in them. I wonder what's going on.

Far as I understand it, things are still in the works as far as the anthologies go. The covers for Vol II and III look awesome however.
As far as the last contest, they're probably busy reading and ranking stories to send for final judging. Should find out in a week or two how that shuffles out.

Yes, Chronicler entrants and enthusiasts, have no fear!
Volumes II and III of the Pathfinder Chronicler Anthology (both products of the 2011 contest) are still being edited together and will be produced for your reading pleasure at PaizoCon 2013. Rest assured that your hard work as authors and your support as Pathfinder fans will not go unrewarded.
These books promise to be beautiful and fantastic!

I know I gave a few notes of commentary on each of the Top 5 to the folks in charge--I'm sure if you ping them, they'd be happy to give you yours!
Congratulations to the Top 5, as well all the other entrants! That may be somewhat self-serving, as my story, Dirge, placed 4th.
Pathfinder Chronicler posted your comments on the stories Mr. Sutter, and I am profoundly thankful for your input. Having learned about the contest only after the deadline extension, I was happy to have had the time to submit anything at all, and am now eagerly looking forward to polishing the piece up in anticipation of the anthology.
I am extremely pleased with 4th... for now, and will definitely be out to prove myself in next year's contest.

I concur - thanks for the awesome comments on my story (The Forgotten)!!
I too only found out about the contest very late. I happened to stumble upon it while browsing the boards and only had a week to get a story written. Thank goodness for the extended deadline!
Maybe the contest can be advertised better somehow in the future? It sounded like the deadline got pushed out because there wasn't a lot of entries.

Thanks for the heads-up. Didn't get anything from Malik yet, but another admin responded to a post over at the chronicler. Sounds like there is a Facebook page with some details, and that everyone should have received an email with the code. I didn't, or gmail's spam catcher ate it, at any rate.
It would have been nice to know there was a Facebook page with details, and folks that would respond to queries. Unfortunately, the chronicler has no such information. At least, that I could find.
The saga continues.
