can you modify an arbiter?

Rules Questions

ok, you can get an improved familiar "arbiter" which is an "inevitable" which is construced from material parts and "shares traits with constructs" does that mean if you have craft construct you can modify an arbiter? an arbiter would make a hell of a breastplate...

Is he an outsider or a construct by type?

EDIT:

Just answered that for myself.

By type definition they are outsiders.

So I would say no.

The "inevitable" subtype only says that effects that target constructs also work on them.

Using the Craft Construct feat to modify them wouldn't count as "an effect targeting a construct", IMO.

But yeah, I guess you found one of those grey areas where a GM has to decide.

As I said, IMO, the answer to your question is probably more NO than YES.

They share some of the same traits, but are not constructs.
Homunculus is the way to go. If you want it to be celestial, then you want to go Aasamir, and grab the Celestial Servant feat.

but theres a problem with that, homunculus has low hp, low hd, and no DR, you wear one as a breastplate and your paying 35k to avoid your next 20 pts of dammage before its destroyed, you cant even modify it to the point where it gains more than 10 hp... not really worth it.

Grand Lodge

You can build a homunculus with extra Hit Die, which will provide more hit points, and with the Heart Bioconstruct Modification it will have even more hit points.
When you increase it's hit die, it will gain feats, which you can allocate to things like Toughness. You can also slap a Fortifying Stone to give it another extra 20 hit points.
Also, you can add Weapon Modifications, to attach revolvers, which it will be automatically proficient with.

BTW: How can you use a construct as armor?!

The Construct Armor Modification.

Due to the size though, it would be better to add the Construct Shield Modification.

No way!
I can build myself a power armor now?!
Sweet!

Anyone already made an effective build for that?

Thinkin about medium animated object (animated full plate armor) as armor construct, with "metal", "fly", and some "custom improvement to improve clumsy maneuverability".
