Tiefling Natural Attacks

Advice

I know there is the Maw or Claw alternate racial trait, but if I want Claw AND Bite attacks how can I pull that off? I'm talking permanent not using spells or potions or class abilities. Can it be done?

Barbarians can get the bite attack when they rage, so maybe that?

Roll for a bite or claw attack on the Variant Tiefling Abilities chart and select the one you didn't roll for the Maw or Claw trait. Or get a GM reasonable enough to allow both without rolling for it.

I may have to go that route...trying to figure out a way to get both for my Beastmorph Vivisectionist so I can use them even when not under Mutagen...for obvious Sneak Attack reasons.

Hmm I could dip 1 level Sorc Draconic Bloodline for Claws...or not drop Cha and go Eldritch Heritage Draconic...

Just a character build not for a set campaign?

There's a Trait from the orc book, Tusked, that gives you a bite attack. You can technically grab it with the Adopted trait.

If you take it as-is, it's rather silly (My teefs are so big cause I was raised by orcs!), but with a Tiefling you could flavor it as either another facet of your fiendish heritage, or say that your humanoid parents were orcs/half-orcs.

Knowing the possibilities with that build, as a DM I'd make you roll. Sadly even losing the bite won't slow you down a huge deal once you get mid level-ish.

You could always dip oracle and take the Wolfscarred Face curse (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/oracle/oracle-curses) for a speech impediment and a permanent bite attack.

You would have to check to see if this is do able, but with the Pathfinder-sCore-Forge-6.9.0.0 Excel character creation program (which is not 100% perfect), I am able to:

1. Alternate Racial Trait 1: Prehensile Tail replaces the Tiefling Fiendish Sorcery Racial Trait.
2. Alternate Racial Trait 2: Scaled Skin with resistance(Fire:my choice, can be any one of the 3)5 and +1 natural armor bonus to AC replaces the Tiefling Resistances racial trait.
3. Alternate Racial Trait 3: Tiefling Maw with bite attack, [Bite, Razor], that deals 1d6 pts. dmg., primary natural attack replaces the Tiefling Magic racial trait.
4. Alternate Racial Trait 4: Fiendish Sprinter (or you can take Vestigial Wings) +2 sqr racial bonus to spd when charging, running, or withdrawing rplaces the Tiefling Sneakiness racial trait.
5. Alternate Racial Trait 5: Fiendish Heritage replaces Tieflings Heritage racial trait.
a. Hungerseed: The spawn of the oni can use alterself once per day (caster level equal to class levels). Str: +2, Wis: +2, Cha: -2.
b. Tieflings have a +2 racial bonus on Disguise and Intimidate checks.
c. CLAWS: You grow a pair of claws, [Claws,Small]. These claws are primary attacks that deal 1d4 pts. dmg.
d. Fiendishly Relentless: You gain a +2 bonus on your CMB.
e. Fiendishly Hardened: You gain a +2 bonus on your CMD.

Taking the Adopted and Tusked traits is the easiest RAW legal way to gain it. As a tiefling, you can negate some of the cheese by saying you were born with sharp, demonic teeth already. You were simply taught to make the most of them.

You gain a 1d4 primary natural bite attack, but use up both your trait slots (if your DM allows traits).

Another option, take the Maw option for Maw or Claw, and then play a ranger with the Natural Weapons combat style. Aspect of the Beast with your level 2 bonus feat will get you a pair of 1d4 claw attacks.

Beast Totem Barbarian is another route, though then you only get the claws while you rage.

Can someone link to "tusked" please? I have seen it mentioned several times on these boards but it doesn't appear on my searches. I see "toothy" but that isn't available via adopted.

That's not how the Adopted trait works.

It eats up your ability to take a social or race trait, but still leaves you with a single trait slot.

So, you could still nab, say, a Religion, Magic, or Regional trait, along with the Adopted/Tusked traits.

The ranger seems like the best method so that you do not have to deal with that trait silliness.

Although, with the beast totem, there is actually something to be said for having only the bite a lot of the time. You see, when you only have 1 natural attack, it gets 1.5x your STR modifier. If you start out with 18 STR, that means that you would not be able to tell the difference between raging and not raging for the bite once you have the claws. (4x1.5=6x1).

So only having a standard attack might not be that bad early in a fight, when you are just skirmishing. Once you get your opponents in close and you are ready to full attack, then you can rage. This might actually help to reinforce the idea of saving rage rounds.

Ring of Rat fangs, gives you a bite attack 8k gold, did you say you were getting the claws from elsewhere?
