So in our local PFS group we're trying to let one of the players who's missed a few session catch back up. Rather than enter the slow track I'd like to bring back an old character that I haven't played for over a year. Unfortunately I must have misplaced his chronicles and can't find them. However every session is recorded online. Could someone please suggest what I can do to get this character up and running again?

Hello! I have a couple suggestions for you.

1) (depends on where/when/with whom you play) Go to your GMs from your past sessions, and ask them to write you a new chronicle. This works well if that character only has a few chronicles, and if you play consistently with only a few GMs. I would advise providing all that info from the bottom of the chronicle sheet for them (event, event code, date, etc) for them. They can even do this via email, if need be.

2) If you have a whole big jumble of chronicles from everywhere and it's going to be way too much of a hassle to find all your old GMs: Find a local venture officer, and buy them a beer. Then ask really nicely. Provide a copy of your character's online record, and they can print and sign all of your chronicle sheets. Again, you can do this via email if you really need to (but then you owe them a box of cookies AND a beer cause they have to print/fill/scan everything).

3) Um...The third, lazy, and kinda sorta not kosher, but okay only if you're playing ONLY with a home group and not at a public game: Print out the computer record. Play your character. Keep all your chronicles from there on out. I really don't recommend this method, and you should do one of the two options above if you're going to play this character at any kind of public game.

Hope this helps :-P

I'd avoid #3. Your local VO should be happy to help recreate the lost Chronicles if you can't find the GMs.

Alright I'll get in contact with my local Venture Captain. Hunting down GMs won't work because he's lvl 5 with GMs from all over. Thanks for the help :)

Actually I use Number 3 for one of my characters.

Here is the link when I brought it up many years ago.
