Are there any rulings/errata on this.
Scenario: dragon pistol- loaded with scatter shot, idiot party member got in way = unload it and reload with a pellet.
Just defaulted to a standard action till can ponder it.
Is it a standard, move or free action?
Does rapid reload change it?
Is it like a misfire?
Do you wrack the cartridge or powder and shot?
Can you use grit to speed it?
Ideas/Opinions/Eratta/any rule I have missed that eloborates ?

Depends on the gun. For a one handed muzzle loader, I'd say free action (just point down).
Im not sure about that,
In reality the balls had to be crammed in tight enough that that I don't believe they could just fall out. Thats what the ram rod was all about.
but I guess I could be off on that.
You could always discharge it into the air or the ground.

Having shot both of my muskets, one with a round ball, the other with a minie ball, the unloading process is quite extensive. For gaming purposes, I would say a full-round action at the least (realistically, you're looking at a process that takes a number of minutes to do). Practically speaking, you're better off firing your weapon into the ground and then reloading it.

It is HARD to remove the ball from a flintlock, you need to screw the end of a rod into it and pull like crazy, no less than a full round more accurately 2 or 3. scatter shot would have wadding in front of the shot that would be slightly easier to get out the same way, so full round action, maybe a standard if the DM is nice. and would waste the powder as well.
My family shoots the real thing and my father did a tv special about them in the 80's
