Newbie Wizard wants to hit you!!

I'm a level one elf wizard and you are a cr 1/4 scarlet spider.

I wanna hit you with an acid splash cause I'm dumb and I uses cantrips to hit enemies XD

I use my dex modifier as my base attack bonus right? Is that all I use? Spells don't have any other bonuses to hit?

You add your dex modifier to your base attack bonus (which is zero at level 1.)

There are ways to get other bonuses, like a cleric's bless spell or anything else that gives a bonus to any attack. If you really want to hit you could cast true strike first and get a +20 bonus on that one attack, but this is a bad idea. You could also take the Point-Blank Shot feat, which is also a questionable choice.

The fact that you're not very good at hitting things is made up for by the fact that you're targeting touch AC, which basically means that you ignore armor.

Its a ranged touch attack

DEX + BAB + attack modifiers

attack modifiers could be for example a +1 morale bonus from a bardsong.

In your example

DEX + 0 + 0 = add your dex mod to your attack roll.

Although this doesn't come into play until later level when there is a large difference between full AC and touch AC on bigger monsters. At low levels wizards have a hard time landing touch spells for the most part.

especially if they are an Iconic pregen lv5 wizard named Ezren with a DEX of 10 who has several touch spells on his spell list , bizzare ;)

Because Ezren is the worst wizard you could build...honestly, if you use Ezren expect to die...horribly. Well the worst wizard that can actually cast spells...I mean if you want to create a Wizard with 10Int, you would then be THE WORST possibly. He's just a Bad Wizard...

I'm playing Ezren on Friday , and I expect to die HORRIBLY :P

And what the hell is with Craft Wand as his 5th level feat if pregens are mostly used for one shots or short games.

With a 10 int, you can still cast cantrips.

1d3 damage is too good, better drop that int to 9.
