I have the chronicle for the Braid of a Hundred Masters, but it fits so well for another character. Is there any way that I can have that newer character have access to purchase the said magic item without me running the Scenario for credit?
I would really like to get that item for my monk, because it thematically fits for that character, but the character that obtained the chronicle would never purchase it.
Am I out of luck, or is there some way to purchase it with my monk character?
EDIT: This monk would be the character that I intend to build up and eventually enter the Ruby Phoenix Tournament with, which would just fit the story so well.

Luckily, I love this scenario, so running it should not be a chore. My favorite Kurosawa film is the Seven Samurai, so I channel my best in this one... The only problem is that my friends have already played through this one, so I might try to run Quest for Perfection at PaizoCon on Saturday night and Sunday if I can find some new friends that have not experienced it yet...

Are you going to the banquet? I couldn't get tickets, so I was thinking of running one scenario after dinner, maybe 8-ish, but nothing set in stone. Then Sunday after the 9-2 finishes I could run another... I am not sure when I would be able to squeeze in the third...
EDIT: I am in MagiTek factory, Friday morning; Cyphermage Dilemma, Friday afternoon; then Grand Convocation Friday night, so I don't think Friday is going to work... >.<

You can GM the scenario and apply the Chronicle to your monk. Other than that, there is no way.
That's correct. It is a unique item specific to that Chronicle.
forgive me mike ... but on a different thread regarding this Scenario series I was under the impression that since its boonish (Unique Item to the chronicle that requires participation in the previous 2 Scenarios) that GM's did not gain access to it ...
not complaining but asking for clarification based the previous post
from the 4.2 changes sticky thread
Wraith235 wrote:None currently. However, when and if that rule ever changes, the GM would get to choose.Michael Brock wrote:Wraith235 wrote:Clarification on what GM's gain from Running mods
the Boon from the final Eye of the Ten mod is an example of one that should be gained
Currently GMs do not receive boons, for good or ill, from GMing a scenario or module. The only exception is when the boon is the only thing on the Chronicle, such as a holiday boon.
I've GMed Eyes of Ten twice and definitely understand your example. I am considering changing the GMs not receiving boons, but at this time, they aren't available.
fair enough ...then I have a question about another scenario ...
3-13 2 Items on the chronicle ...
1 states "as long as you have chronicle sheets for all 3 parts"
and the other is a unique Item specific to the Arc
which of these ... if either ... does the GM Gain from running the scenario

That was my error in that first reply I made that you quoted above. The Braid is an item so can be purchased by the GM. The spoiler you mentioned is a boon as advised by the last sentence of the description.
I know it's a bit of a de-rail but, I had posted this question in the scenario's thread and I was wondering if you guys had time to discuss it. The boon in this scenario is worded differently than other boons so my question was:
1. what happens if I GM scenarios 1 and 2, but play scenario 3? Do I get the boon?
2. what happens if I play scenarios 1 and 2, but GM scenario 3? Do i get the boon?
I know the overall rule is GMs don't get boons, but:

Jeffrey Fox wrote:So the only way not to get the boon is to gm all three?Since I assume your talking about the braid my interpretation is any combination of running / playing so long as you have all 3 chronicles on the same character you gain the braid
Two separate topics (sorry for the confusion):
1. The BRAID is available to any character with the chronicle sheet for part 3, whether it was player or GM credit.
2. The BOON at the top of part 3 (above the braid) is available to any character with all three chronicle sheets. Regardless of whether they got it from GMing or playing.

ah I'm not 100% about that ... I would assume that if you GM the 3rd one you are ineligible for the Boon - even if you played the 1st 2 ... that's just a guess thought since I know currently GM's do not receive Boons and the fact that that boon is only on the 3rd one
if it was referenced on the previous parts I could see GM'ing any of them not getting you the boon since you wouldn't qualify for the "Credit boon" theres a blog post somewhere about something similar regarding Wonders in the Weave and Rats of Round mountain
Just dont quote me on that

That is why I just asked Mike. Note the wording on the boon for Quest for Perfection is very different from WitW and Rats. For QfP, they do not be consecutive, nor is the boon dependent on any actions taken within the scenario itself. It doesn't have a checkbox to the left like a lot of other ones. That is why my suspicion was that this particular boon worked differently, and Mike confirmed above (assuming he read my post correctly, and didn't misinterpret boon for braid :P)

If you own the PDF and print the Chronicle sheet out yourself, you can print the updated Chronicle sheet and staple it to the filled out, signed sheet you received when you played the scenario. This way you don't need to go back and forth with your GM to get the updated text added to your character's records.

On another note, can a 6th lvl character play in a Tier 1-5, since he is still within 1 level? If that's possible, maybe Jack doesn't need to worry about being out of range for Quest for Perfection?
Nope, sorry. Tier 1-5 is only for PCs from 1st to 5th level.
Same holds true for all tier ranges.
1 = 1 only
1-5 = 1-5 only
3-7 = 3-7 only
5-9 = 5-9 only
7-11 = 7-11 only
12 = 12 only
Sub-tiers within a tier range are more flexible, although playing too far out of sub-tier is still not good.

Ok, so the "within 1 lvl" rule is for the instance of deciding between playing sub-tiers, correct?
On another note, what is the rule about adding abilities to named items, such as adding amulet of mighty fists abilities to the Braid of a Hundred Masters? I believe that it cannot be done, but I am having trouble finding the post with the specific ruling.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it in the FAQ...
I will have to choose carefully then... ;p

The within 1 is only used with the sanctioned modules. For scenarios
1) you have to be in the Tier of the scenario
2) you can play up or down, but only one sub-tier. So a 1st level in a (1-7) could play up to (3-4) but not (6-7). While a 3rd level could play down to (1-2) or up to (6-7) and a 7th level char could play down to (3-4) but not (1-2).

If I miss out on the cool stuff, I miss out on the cool stuff. The PFS locations I play at all stopped running Season 3 in prep for the con, so unless someone wants to swap slots with me when I get to the con, I'm just kinda tough cookies on this one.
But that's really just how things go. You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios you play in with what characters unless all of your characters are in the same level range.
*shrug* Oh well. It's not like he's gonna just die if I don't get the item on him. (It'd just be fun what with making him faster XD)

I am not going to the banquet, and was hoping for a PFS pick me up. Not sure what level this is, but I dinnae mind playing a pregen if my chars not at the right level :) count me in.

@Curaigh: It's a Tier 1-5. You are welcome to play! Ideally I would like to run all 3 scenarios, but I am trying to find a time to do the third one, unless we blow through 2 scenarios on Saturday night. (Possible, but certainly draining!) ^_^
Of course it also depends if we can find some others that would like to play that series, that haven't played it already. Though I think our chances might be pretty good. My brother will also be there, but I am not sure yet when he plans to head out for home. (It's a 6 hour drive.)

the way I see it
Item - Have all 3 chronicles on a particular character in any combination of player or GM Credit
Boon - Have all 3 chronicles on a particular character and YOU have NOT applied GM Credit for part 3
this is how I interpret things ... and I may be wrong ... but this is how I will operate until Mike or Mark say different

Cool, I'll look for you. 6 hour drive eh? Me too. Where from?
