1) Can i use the crane style even i i'm a magus and i've cast a spell with my free hand the last turn?

2) Add dreamspeaker +1 to the DC of slumber hex?

Quote:
Dreamspeaker: A few elves have the ability to tap into the power of sleep, dreams, and prescient reverie. Elves with this racial trait add +1 to saving throw DCs for spells of the divination school and sleep effects they cast. In addition, elves with a Charisma of 15 or higher may use dream once per day as a spell-like ability (caster level is equal to the elf’s character level). This racial trait replaces the elven immunities racial trait.

2. No. A hex is a supernatural ability, not a spell.

1. I have to look it up.

1. Yes you can use it. Nothing in the style requires a free hand.

Quote:

Crane Style (Combat, Style)

Your unarmed fighting techniques blend poise with graceful defense.

Prerequisites: Dodge, Improved Unarmed Strike, base attack bonus +2 or monk level 1st.

Benefit: You take only a –2 penalty on attack rolls for fighting defensively. While using this style and fighting defensively or using the total defense action, you gain an additional +1 dodge bonus to your Armor Class.

No, I refer to crane wings.

Grand Lodge

Yeah, you can use Crane Wing. It is somewhat of a Magus staple.

BBT is correct. Even if you use the hand to cast the hand is still free. It is no different than the monk using the hand to punch someone in the fact.

1. Yes. You can use the hand all you like, including making weapon attacks with it, as long as it is free at the time you need to use crane wing.

2. Based on the text, there isn't an easy answer. While Dreamspeaker refers directly to divination spells, the latter part "sleep effects they cast" is a matter of interpretation. "They cast" might refer to actual spell casting. On the other hand the difference between the explicit "divination" and the loose "sleep effects" might suggest a broader use of the latter part of the ability.

2. The slumber hex is a sleep effect. The APG says you "use" hexes, but from what I've seen, in ordinary language, you cast a hex. It seems to work.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

2.You do not cast hexes to include slumber.

It references the sleep spell so you know how it works similar to how abundant step references the spell dimension door.

Only spells and SLA's can be cast unless specific text says otherwise.

Casting requires provokes. Casting requires caster levels. Casting can be affected by certain feats. None of these apply to supernatural abilities.
