Bladed Scarf acceptable for Tengu - Swordtrained trait?

Bladed Scarf from the Inner Sea World guide isn't on the expanded weapon groups. Would it count for Swordtrained, being a bladed weapon?

Also, just wondering if there's a stance on what qualifies as Swordtrained in PFS. The expanded weapon groups from ultimate combat for heavy and light blades?

Also would a Fighting Fan count for Swordtrained? it a bladed weapon... razors and all...

Sword-like means, well, a sword.

Neither bladed scarfs nor fans are swords. A katana or wakizashi is.

If there's any room for uncertainty at all, I'd rule on the side of "cool" since the bladed scarf isn't going to be any more powerful than other true sword options anyways.

It should work for two bladed swords, if that tickles your fancy.

bladed scarf should probably go in the flail group along with whip/scorpion whip. not a sword.

re: the fighting fan, 'sharp tips which can poison' doesn't sound like a sword to me, more like 'tiger claws' with more 'reach' (not 5' grid reach).
it's only in the close and monk weapon group, not heavy/light blades, so IMHO it shouldn't work with swordtrained.

going with heavy/light blades as the definition of 'swords' seems reasonable... besides double swords, that includes sickles, but why not?, it's just a more curved, smaller scimitar...

Not really sword like to me.

I'd allow it honestly i would prefer it if every Tengu I see people made didn't jump on either Katanas or Sawtooth sabers everytime they showed up.

What about the sword cane pistol?

I would say proficient with the sword bit but not the pistol bit.

No to the Bladed Scarf, yes to the Fighting fan.

The bladed scarf would not be used like a sword at all (at least how I imagine it being used, I don't have any reference to it)

The fighting fan at least makes slashes and cuts.

(but as a DM I would probably give you both since its pretty cool to see someone interested in those weapons)

Remember "Sword-like weapons" include non-swords like daggers, kukri and punching daggers.

No to scarf, no to fan. Daggers (even punching daggers) are a lot more sword-like than a fighting fan. Otherwise, might as well throw axes, spears, and naginata in there.
