The snowflakes are larger right now. Still no accumulation. Freehold knows. He's just waiting for a service rep. He'd do it himself, but he can't because ... math.

Spring and Winter mixed? Wouldn't that make it a Sprinter? :D
Or a Wing? :D
I feel sorry for the robins - poor birds must be confused by the weather. The Canadian geese - they can suffer for the all the messes they made on my car and the sidewalk at work this past Winter. (Yes, I said Winter - there were 8 geese that chose to hang around the building rather than migrate south this past winter.)
There's about sixty Geese that hang out at my garage all year long.
It's not sprinter, splinter or even winring, It's just weird, John.

I guess that the seasons got dizzy watching the Earth spin. :D
John Napier 698 wrote: There's about sixty Geese that hang out at my garage all year long. I just hope the pattern doesn't continue where I work. 2 winters ago it was a pair of geese that remained. Last winter it was 4. This winter 8. Does that mean 16 next winter? 32 the winter after that?
Oh well - it could be worse - the geese could also be aggressive instead of just annoying and messy.
It's Wednesday - halfway through the week.

Geese are adorable and I love them :D my wife and I used to live near a tiny little secluded lake, so we'd get to hang out and feed the goslings
Goslings are cute. Geese out in the wild are just fine. Growing up I lived near a pond and one of my fondest memories was watching the flocks swimming on the water. It's when they decide to hang around my office building all year is when they're a pain. They like to stand out in the road and block traffic and don't get me started on the messes they make. I don't even get why they're nesting around the office building - with the exception of the occasional puddle in the parking lot there's not really a lot of water for the aquatic creatures. I used to work at a place where the geese got near swan-level aggressive - chasing anyone who came within a few feet or even attacking cars.
If there's a river or lake near your office, they hang around. They'll also stay if there's a lot of grass nearby.

Unfortunately, there are none of the those, which is what has me baffled. I'm convinced these particular geese are plotting something sinister and are growing their army every year. :-)

Just got back from the final session of a adventure that has been going on for over 3 years. It was EPIC and I feel AWESOME. And really tired.
That is always a fine feeling, CCD

*Accepts even more hugs, because ...* So, the Road Captain calls me and tells me that the new guard called off, and ask if the morning guard can come in. The morning guard told me that he already made plans for tomorrow, since he expected to be off. The company is supposed to have floaters for this sort of situation, but doesn't. So, guess who's going to have a 19-hour shift tomorrow. *sigh* I'm going to lose my Wednesday day off for this. Did I tell anyone recently how I hate this f@!+ing job?

Not "recently," but I definitely have been sensing a pattern! That's awful, though, jeez.
Well, more sad and deeply disappointed than actual hatred. I should have seen this coming, especially after they denied my request for two days off earlier this month. That they decide to "punish" the guards for them not having sufficient personnel is what ticks me off. So, I have to decide whether to leave a sinking ship early, or stay until the bitter end.

Hey are there any other LGBT+ educators in the group (besides me?). The NEA GLBT Caucus is hosting a national conference in May in Vegas (May 18th) NEA GLBT Issues Conf and I was wondering if I might see any of you there?
Registration closes the end of the month.

It might be fun to schedule a game Friday or Sat night of the Conference, if anyone else was there.

Also I was elected to attend the National NEA Rep Assembly this summer in Minneapolis. Again if anyone else might be headed there and wanted to connect up over the Fourth of July Week, it would be fun!!

I suppose I’m kind of an educator, now, at any rate. *Checks: yes, is taking a break between working on a conference paper and administering the final exam in the first course she’s ever taught.* I’m in the wrong country, though, I’m afraid. But it does sound like an interesting conference!
I will be Stateside for another conference a few months down the line, more or less specifically for a panel on LGBT+ topics, but that conference has overwhelmingly more to do with my field than pedagogy as such.

Having an issue with one of our apps at work that is caused by network certificate and security changes and our network folks are denying it even though all the evidence points to changes they made.

*Accepts all hugs* It turns out that I may not have today off anyway. So, after a brutal 19 hour shift yesterday, I'm going back in. Going to have 19 extra hours in this pay period. It's decided. I'm not volunteering for any more special details, especially on the weekends. Not doin', I'm busy.
