Recommend me an adventure

Advice

Hey everyone! I'd like you to recommend me an adventure to play
I usualy make them myself for DMing, but I'd like to try playing with a ready-made one for a change (and because of time limitations)

The adventure can be pathfinder/community or even d&d I don't mind making the conversions

What I'm looking for is an adventure that has some (no need to have them all) of the following:

- Not too much battle - just a couple
- less than 10 level characters
- Investigation / mystery based
- Not too long (not spanning more than 2 levels)
- Difficult choices
- Lots of RP opportunities

Thanks in advance!

This might not exactly be what you are looking for, but why not try one of the adventure paths.

If you are looking for a lot of RP, I think Curse of the Crimson Throne might be worth a look at. It's based in Korvosa, and especially the first three installments give a lot of RP/investigation opportunities.

An AP typiccally runs from lvl 1 to around 16.

You could always just buy the first installment, run it and see if you and your players like it. If so, just buy the others. If not, you haven't thrown away the money to buy all six.

hope this helps

I'll look into that thanks!

Hope I get some more suggestions!

Liberty's Edge

Going to have a hard time finding ANY adventure/module with only a "couple fights." While Pathfinder has several mechanics built in for non-combat encounters and roleplay; the meat and potatoes of it (and most other RPG's) is combat. 70% of a character sheet is about combat statistics.

If you want a more customized adventure, I'd advise either creating one yourself, or modify an existing module by removing the majority of the hack and slash. Of course, then you will have to replace the missing combat elements with something else!

Just my two cents for what it is worth.

Hi there.

If you want a good set of adventures that take you up to L10 or so... Have a look at the Falcon's Hollow set of adventures. They are all fairly loosely linked, allowing a fair bit of GM adjustment as you go along (unlike an adventure path, which can be far more tightly scripted). What's best, is that the first part (D0 - Hollows Last Hope) is actually free, and leads nicely into D1, Crown of the Kobold King. Other adventures follow, most of them fairly loosely tied in, some with undead, other with a circus that comes to town (I kid you not :-))

What makes it better for me personally is the RP opportunities in Falcon's Hollow (the "base" town) are superb. The place is not nice, with lots of people just trying to get by as best they can, under the heel of some not so friendly people - as such, moral choices abound in terms of RP :-))

The only down side is that the original adventures were for D&D 3.5, and will need a quick bit of shifting to allow for Pathfinder (no great problem though)

Have fun

I just bought this last week and plan on running it. Has a little more combat than you're looking for, but it's still secondary to the investigation.

Retribution

This seems a fine opportunity to recommend my own adventure, "The Six Griffons Haunt," available right here.

It's fairly short (should take one to two play sessions), is primarily an investigation, has a lot of RP potential, and is for 3rd level PCs.

Within the next few weeks I'll be releasing a slightly longer rural investigation-based adventure, so look for "The Underdelve Menace" soon!

Silver Crusade

The Pathfinder module "The Feast of Ravenmoor" is a lot of fun, with a good mix of role playing and combat. It's supposedly for 3rd level characters, though the final fight is pretty tough at that level. My group barely survived it with no casualties.

The pathfinder module Carrion Crown might serve here, it meets alot of your criteria:

- Not too much battle - just a couple
It can easily be run with a handful of fights, and there are no 'crawls' with a bunch of combats in a row.

- less than 10 level characters
It is a 5th level adventure.
- Investigation / mystery based
It is an investigation style adventure.
- Not too long (not spanning more than 2 levels)
my players didn even reach level 7 when we ran it starting at 5th.
- Difficult choices

some choices mean alot:

In the adventure, if the players dont investigate quickly, people start dieing, which makes their choice of who and where to investigate first very meaningful. And those choices have an impact on the final conflict with the big bad

- Lots of RP opportunities
There is a ton of roleplay potential in this adventure, especially in the process of the investigation.

Thanks so much! This is all really helpful!
