Glad to hear you are the mend, Bryndyn.
So my landline doesn't actually work. sigh This is going to be my lasting memory of moving here. I am not sure which century I am living in here but the 21st it ain't!
I've stopped reading all the game threads because my opportunities for internet time are limited now my son and wife are in school.
But on the positive side, I did get some Live Action Roleplay all Sunday. They even remembered my old character from 11 years ago. The weather went a bit nasty towards the end but playing a zombie or ghoul was fun. Chasing girls as a slaver even better.
Then last night I joined a group and played Shadowrun for the first time. It was great and the bonus was we played in a game shop that one of the lads owns. Great fun!
How is everyone else doing?
Cheers

Up and down. Am finally getting ready to run the Deadlands game I've been planning for a decade, god forgive me. Work is work and my futility quotient is going into the red. My immediate family are all well. Basically, I'm sinking gently into middle age.

All good here and thankfully healthy. Great year at work. Oldest son just got his first college admission (with $ attached, yay!). Younger one is loving his first year of HS. Weekly Pathfinder Society group just topped 50 people and pulling 4-5 tables every week. When we started a couple years ago it was hit or miss if we would manage one. Now if I could only find more time for writing and swimming/biking/running!

Haven't fully decided. Originally I was thinking to be a straight fighter, then decided to take a bard level for the social skills. Then a 2nd level of bard seemed sensible for the saves and the cure light wounds possibility. My intent was to get some full plate and do a slightly better job of being a meat shield, and occasionally burn a 50% spell fail. But we are pretty well equipped with fighty types. What's a magus?

Aidan Ayrvar |

A magus is a combined spellcaster and martial fighter- like a base class eldritch knight that's less powerful? Their primary ability is to be able to "dual-wield" sword and spell- you can cast and attack in a round as a full attack.
You could always also take still spell, and just use your lovely voice.
Look into the archetype Arcane Duelist, which gives up some performancy-type stuff in exchange for an arcane bond and the ability to cast spells in medium armor at 10th.

Taedric Starfell |

However, Magus' armoured casting (like a bard's) only affects spells gained from that class.

Taedric Starfell |

Not a problem in the slightest, Sigil -- and congratulations, indeed!

Taedric Starfell |

I should have a fully updated level 4 cavalier Taedric posted tonight -- had dinner plans last night and due to changes in policies at work I can't just plug in a USB key over lunch and update like I used to.
However, I'm more than pleased to continue with the plotlines.
Also -- seeing as I've never used my tactician abilities, Sigil, would it be ok if Taedric were to retroactively have been an Emissary (Archetype) all this time?

Taedric Starfell |

Ok, updated. Both Trumps and Taedric gained a hit die and a constitution point, making them tougher.
I still have no stats for the helm or lance. ;)

Polo!

Several of you have asked about character reworks... At this point it seems fairest to throw the barn doors open... (I hope I am not going to regret this.) I am okay with minor reworks that make the crunch of your character more compatible with the way you have been playing. (I do not expect to find savant wizard Abbas in my email!!!) If you want to do this, YOU MUST send me a detailed email that lets me know what will change (ie from what to what) and why this makes the character more consistent. If you want the change you need to do the heavy lifting. :) Also, this is a one time offer. Its timing corresponds nicely with the holidays, and with the shopping (both real and in game) that needs to be done, I expect a little lag here. Please do let me know as soon as you can. Once we are rolling again, the barn doors will be shut and that will be that. I do want you all to enjoy your characters. Please do not stop my enjoyment of GM'ing here. :)
ETA: Please post in this thread and let me know you are happy with your pc if that is the case. I just want to be sure everyone has seen this.

All
I'm back...but not caught up (there are 79 unread posts in the game. What happened - After 24 years with my company (more than half my life), I was laid off. I was notified on Nov 15 and it happened on Nov 29. As it happens, other things happened too. My wife's grandmother passed away on Nov 27 (day before thanksgiving) and I had to have minor knee surgery to remove wire that hand been inserted to mend a broken patella (kneecap). As such, I've been spending most of my days either applying to jobs in my area (there aren't many), rehabilitating, or struggling with events of the past month. Gaming was just not a priority.
But...it is...too. I find that when I'm not gaming, I'm not feeling right... I don't want to be more off balance than life has already made me, so I would like to return, starting next week. I figure things will slow down a bit over Christmas, allowing me to catch up. I'll level my character and jump in as soon as it makes sense.
Thank you so much for your patience.
Rich (aka Bryndyn)

Harlynn P. Quinn |

Sorry for my general lack of posting. I am endevouring to try and be more frequent but building my business up as a personal trainer is tougher than expected. Luckily, I am going to be promoted to an assistant fitness manager shortly and my super busy season will becoming in a few weeks. While this will ease my fiscal woes my time will be in short order. However a lot of pbp are ending in the next week which should allow more time to devout to this game.
As far as changes go, there might be one minor one. I have been thinking about changing Harlynn's sex to female and possibly multiclassing into a summoner. This is to reflect more interest in the roleplay aspect and to reflect dealings with devils and having one aid her (the eidolon) Thoughts? Opinions?

Diabolist, page 44 of Book of the Damned V.1.
This prestige class is awesome.
As for the devilkind aspect, I would be far more likely personally to take improved familiar (and skill focus diplomacy) and call it a day- I don't really care for the summoner.
On gender bending, I have no input at all- I find it easier to play your own gender in a live game, but the mask of the internet makes this moot.
