Oracle and Ring of Revelation and UMD

Rules Questions

I've done a search and found various topics about this but couldn't find an answer to these particular questions.

1)If my oracle of life puts on a Ring of Revelation (RoR) with the Channel ability in it (a revelation he doesn't have) can he use UMD to try to trick the ring into working at a higher level than he is? (So if he gets a 25 on his UMD he channels for 3d6 even if he is only 3rd level.

2) If so, if the same oracle then took the Channel revelation as part of his class would he no longer be able to do this?

3) Later he finds a RoR with the Stone Mystery revelation 'Acid Skin' in it. When would he roll his UMD to determine how much acid resistance he receives? Could he keep taking it on and off until he got a UMD result he liked?

Anyone?

I'm actually in a similar situation so I'm curious about the answers to these as well.

Shadow Lodge

(Ring of Revelation and Use Magic Device)

1) No. UMD does not grant you the ability to fake being a higher level when determining the affects of a spell or ability.

2) Since he could not do it in the first place, a moot question. However, the perk of wearing a RoR if you already have the revelation: "If the oracle already has that revelation and the revelation gives an ability with a limited number of uses per day, the oracle can use that ability one additional time per day." So, you'd get 1 more channel.

3) The oracle of life could not use that ring: "The oracle must have the appropriate mystery to use the ring, and must meet the level requirements (if any) of the revelation itself." Again, you could not roll UMD to get "bonus levels" on the results.

Why exactly why can't the oracle UMD 'Emulate a Class Feature' to qualify for the Stone Mystery?
