Well as this is written all I have to do is qualify for the prerequisites
and then I can use any of my arcane classes not just my spontaneous class. So I am wondering if this is true could I make bard1/Magus4/DD(magus)X
From PRD: At the indicated levels, a dragon disciple gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. He does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting. If a character had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming a dragon disciple, he must decide to which class he adds the new level for purposes of determining spells per day
so it says an so that means any?
so it says if he is a spontaneous caster does that mean i dont have to gain a level in a spontaneous caster?

Greetings, fellow traveller.
If gaining enough XP to gain a level as Dragon Disciple, you can advance your caster level in any arcane spellcasting progression, as you see it fit, be it wizard, sorcerer, bard, magus.
If you multiclassed more than once (as in your example) you have to choose one of the classes for advancement in spellcasting.
Multiclassing or taking a prestige class means you stop advancing in your previous class, you now advance as (taking your example) a dragon disciple.
Say, you took 5 levels of bard and gain enough XP for level 6+7. You decide (and qualify for) picking up the DD prestige class.
You stop advancing your bard things (no more rounds of bardic performance, you would not get the special performance for using suggestion etc.) but you gain all that the DD gets in his description plus the advancement in your caster level as a bard (when taking the second level as DD since DD do not get the benefit of advancing their spell casting level at DD level 1).
You are now 7th level (your character level and hit dice is 7), but you are in fact a character with six levels in bard spell casting.
To take up your example: bard 1/magus 4/dd 2; you would be a 7th level character and could decide whether to become a character with 2 levels of spell casting ability as a bard or becoming a character with 5 levels of spell progression as a magus.
Ruyan.
EDIT: It just takes me too long to type these things...

You have to be able to "cast 1st level arcane spells without preparation". If you can find a way to do that as a prepared spellcaster with no levels as a spontaneous caster, then you are covered.

His level of bard covers that. So he qualifies, and can take levels of Dragon Disciple.
His question was whether the +1 level of spellcasting granted by levels of DD can be used for a non-spontaneous casting class, like his levels of Magus. The answer is yes, because that's what DD says.

That is what it says by RAW, whether it's RAI is arguable. In my home campaign, only spontaneous caster levels can be advanced by the DD class, but that's me.
