Oracles have worked fine so far for me. You can't multiclass to Oracle (or any class) with different archetypes however. You can have levels in the class of the same name only once. You can stack multiple archetypes however as long as they don't replace the same feature. You can't also have multiple levels in different class specialisation, for example you can't be Evoker 3 / Necromancer 2, since both of these are levels in the same class - Wizard.
Depends on what you want to achieve probably. So far I've seen an oracle of life that was focused on healing and channeling energy (heal +undead blasting) for example and it was fun for the player.
Also if you want bloodlines, I suggest do not multiclass. All of my experiences with multiclassing primary spellcasters was bad. Instead, take the Eldritch Heritage feat chain.

Cleric : Generalist divine caster. They can cast any divine spell with enough prep time and the level to cast it. Along with domains that grant them special ability's.
Oracle : Very specialized divine caster. Once you pick your mystery you are set in your course of actions. Some are very good at casting, and some are good for battle. They are all very focused on doing one or the other.
Oracles in building require a understanding of where you going with the character Long before you start playing. By picking the mystery you are set in what you can do. So care full building will go along way to make them much more effective.
