Clarification about Skill Ranks and Dilettante feat

Rules Questions

I'm Planning on becoming a Loremaster, for my upcoming/current character.
...A level 10 loremaster would add +5 to all Knowledge skillchecks.

Question is, if I invested Exactly 5 points into any one knowledge skill (And I had the prerequisites for Dilettante), would the resulting total be 15? ( 5 base ranks, +3 for being a Class skill, +2 from Dilettante, and +5 from Loremaster's Lore? )

..And the next rank put into it would make the total 14 again? (losing the Dilettante bonus)?

Thats how I read it to work.

Alright. ^_^ So, I guess 5 ranks would be optimal for all Knowledge ranks. (save maybe Arcana. Need that stuff.)

Know any other feats that can contribute, besides skill focuses and their next of kin...?

Additional Traits

breadth of experience will add a +2 bonus to all knowledge skills. But you have to be an elf, dwarf, or gnome.

Saw that one just recently. Thank you. Also, I forgot to mention the +5 bonus from Int modifier, if I successfully manage to get a 20 int score at level 1...

It tends to also involve Aging a hundred years.
I'm a Half-elf. I don't suppose Elf blood counts... but Either way, I think that advances a Half-elf a little too far down the "I'm going to die soon and my life will mean nothing!" ladder.

The traits Starglim mentioned give minor bonuses...

Still doing some research now. Is Dilettante still worthwhile?
