Rules Questions

goal: use MoMS to complete Crane style chain at 2nd level...

1st level character feat = Crane Style
1st level Monk bonus feat = Crane Wing
2nd level Monk bonus feat = Crane Riposte

It looks to me like this is legitimate, following the rules straight out of Ultimate Combat -- I can have a 2nd level Monk who already has Crane Riposte. Is there something I'm missing? Can I run this guy in Pathfinder Society?

Looks like you can.

Yes you can however don't really see a whole lot in the cheese department here but i might be missing something.

Me either, after reading the description of those feats I think the only way anyone would choose them is if they were a master of many styles.

I imagine he is referring to the fact that it allows you to take a feat which normally has a pre-req of a +8 BAB at 2nd level.

I prefer the Maneuvre Master, which allows you to have 4 Improved Combat Maneuvre feats by 3rd level, and gives you an AoO against anyone using one of those Maneuvres against you. YMMV :)

I agree/ Manuvre Master+Ninja for some fient/sneak action.

Feint is not actually a combat maneuver, thus it cannot be used in a Maneuver Master's flurry.

My Monk1(MoMS)/Fighter1(LoreWarden) has had Crane Wing since 1 and will have Riposte at 3. He saved the day in his last game even though playing up with mostly 4s and 5s, but ironically that was only half due to Crane Wing and half due to lucky will saves vs fascinate. His damage wasn't great (only 1d8+6) and his accuracy could have been much better, but he could avoid pretty much everything and just slowly beat the enemies (most things in the Subtier 4-5 scenario had +3 or +4 to hit, though some had three attacks each--with fighting defensively he had AC 21 and Crane Wing) until they were gone.

This has got to be the most amazing rules correction I've ever seen.
