I was wondering about that.
Hmmm

9 5%/+1 possabilities....don't really see a pressing need for any right now......So up to the dice gods: 1d9 ⇒ 3

So +5% to Int it is.

All done and ready to go!

You are indeed complete Marius! Congratulations to the Grim and Blood-stained world of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay!!

Laurenor is now a profile with crunch and example statistics that will be used in game whats vote up to now lol

Background:
Laurenor has been tracking a band of orcs ever since they infringed on the gentle trees of Athel Loren. The band had come swooping down from the mountain range that skirts the edge of the great forest and desecrated many waystones with orc markings and bloodshed. Their Leader Gorig Ripjaw, seemed to be more cunning than most bosses and drew his band back into the mountains before the sentry's of the forest could band together and form a united front. Fading back into the mountains. Upon scouting the orc's trail Laurenor was tasked with tracking this boss down and punishing him with the fangs of Athel Loren.

It has been many moons since he was first given his quest but Laurenor feels he is gaining upon his quarry somewhere in the lands of the humans of the Empire. It seems many orcs are gathering to this place and Laurenor begins to grow suspicions of a warboss powerful enough to send it's call to Ripjaw's tribe. Determined to put down this orc no matter the cost Lauren spies a traveling caravan filled with what kooks like armed humans heading towards some village in the distance.

Having no alternative Lauren decides to maybe join forces with the humans, perhaps their own quest lies along the same lines of his own. And if they could bring him within bow shot of this Ripjaw he can put him down. Humans could be useful...at times.

Only one tiny thing left Marius Fenwick :) your first free advance. You may now purchase ONE 5% increase to any of the scores on your advancement table :) or a +1 to any characteristic in the Secondary Table.

Don't forget the two extra talents we get ^^ then it will be all done xD

Gigantic Demonic voices rings out from all around you

"DAMNIT BRENOG STOP STIFLING MY FLAIR!!!"

lolz yes Marius we will also roll 3 d 100's twice to generate 2 random talents to add to your character. I allow 3 rolls for each as I have seen over the years, i end up with a Sigmarite with Super Numerate and Marksman or something else that does not help him. i allow 3 rolls for each and then you pick the one's you like most :) or you think add more character to your person.

We aren't rolling those JUST yet, although I suppose we can now if everyone takes a vote to begin :)

Also Ryuk/WOlfgang, just waiting on you to finish profile :) then we can all begin!

oh oh do i get two talents pretty pretty please?

And again Slaanesh...No. Elves are badass enough as it is without adding in super-tough and extra shooting skills -.- Lol I am just messing with everyone, but yes that is the reason why Elves don't get random talents.

I noticed something as I was playing with an online WHRP2 generator it appears that is you get a skill twice you get a +10% to that skill?

So getting "Speak Riekspiel" as both a student and a human should give me a +10% at the skill? It makes sense. I mean academics should have a better vocabulary than the average person on the street.

Is this correct or is the generator in error on this one?

Wondering about the randon talents. Could you roll mine for me please?

Actually, to gain the +10 on one skill you have to spend exp on a class that allows you to do so as far as the book is allowing me to do. It does not cover what happens when you possess the skill as a human then gain it as a career but I would go by the leveling up score for now Marius.

Also I checked it out, it isn't a very good system all the rolls are randomly chosen for you. Nothing can be edited or changed. SO i wouldn't advise players here trying to put their characters through it.

Cool.

My thinking was
Step one. human skills grant skill

Then

Step two. Career grants skill as if you had spent xp on it

So you get the +10%

But I'm good either way, I just hate the idea of wasting skills. (said the dude with knowledge Philisophy ;7)

Talents?

From the actual rulebook on Skill Tests for Language:

"SKill tests are unnecessary if all speakers know the language. They may be required to imitate or decipher a regional accent if they wish to sound like a local when they are not"

Since We are in the Empire, everyone here speaks Reikspiel, and accents are more like just low-town country accents.

OH and a a note for options when choosing Career Talents. When you make the choice between two talents, you can ALSO spend exp to purchase the OTHER talent you did not choose to pick up at beginning. :) Again, just found the book so note that anyone interested for later leveling.

I was just playing around making random characters seeing what the skills and ect do.

It is a good things for gm's though. Quick random characters.

ALso on the point of the career and Race overlapping:

You may ONLY advance a skill if you take another career with the same Skill in their SKill list. EX from Book. Mage has Knowledge Magic. Takes jounryneyman mage as next career, which also has knowledge Magic, can then spend exp to improve the skill to +10% and again at Master Wizard to improve it to 20% but that is the max. you may not take the skill more than the improvement of 20% :)

Check. Text reads another careeer and 'human' is not a career.

Glad we nailed that down.

What do I need to roll or talents?

Sorry to nag, just want to finish so I can be eaten by chaos spawn with maximum efficiency.

1d100 ⇒ 32=Luck Again (If Luck was chosen as the 1st random talent, this one would by default be excluded)

Reroll=9 = Ambidextrous

Taking Sixth Sense and Acute Hearing. Both added to character page.

Also added basic human skills (Empire Knowledge and Gossip... Speak Reikspiel already a skill for an Initiate)

Also took the "Free Advance" per p. 20. +05 to WS.

Thanks, oh mighty GM, for all these blessings prior to slaughtering us in thy butcher house!! :)

My pleasure Brother Ottmar. Now, this is just me being based off a rather bad day but as of now I am CLOSING recruitment for this specific adventure path. ALL of those who made it thus far are:

Brother Ottmar, valiant Initiate of Sigmar of the Church in Averheim
Brenog Breuner, die-hard Mercenary bred of battle
Marius Fenwick, knowledgeable student of Averheim University
Laurenor, silent Elven Kithband archer of the Forest
Wolfgang, charming and prodigously skilled sword-Noble of Averland

Congratulations to all who submitted and thank you for following along. We shall begin as soon as everyone checks in as their character.

Hiding after the great demonic voice under a rock

talents 1
1d100 ⇒ 56
1d100 ⇒ 91
1d100 ⇒ 89

talents 2
1d100 ⇒ 14
1d100 ⇒ 93
1d100 ⇒ 25

Edit: Oh! SUPER NICE I'll keep the first set thank you! I still kinda second guessing if maybe the second one is better but will probably keep the first.

We may have only gotten 5 Players, but for this adventure path that was the minimum standard for the number of PC's needed. Hello and welcome to

The Bloody Vale

For Brenog, your random talents are as follows for choices:

56=Resistance to Magic
91=Very Resilient
89=Veyr Resilient Please Reroll

14= Excellent Vision
93= Very Strong
25= Hardy

May I say that your choices are what I wish my past mercenaries and other martial types had been able to choose from Brenog, well rolled.

Reroll1d100 ⇒ 22 Fleet Footed

The choice is very hard now with the reroll...

Hmm for my two Daemon-Chaos God cents, I would only take Veyr strong or Very Resilient if they would incrrease my SB or TB which they do in his case. Fleet-footed is a great talent, and one you might not ever get as a choice again, as well as Magic Resistance, but w the kinds of magicians in these adventure paths Brenog I am afraid a simple 10% bonus to your willpower will not help very much, hint hint. also it NEVER hurts to have more wounds in this game.

So if it were up to me, I would take one of these two, Very-Strong or Very Resilient to gain a +4 to damage or damage reduction, then fleet-footed or Hardy for the other.

ALso, although RECRUITMENT is now closed, your characters by your postings, ie. Scranford, Mark and Paizofan, you are still able to submit characters that I will add in later on should you wish to in the BLoody Vale. Still waiting on Wolfgang to confirm construction of character, but i understand how work and deprived sleep goes so he has time still, he will simply add in his postings as we progress through averland towards Black Water Village. It is A LONG drive so plenty of time for everyone conscripted or who came along willingly to get to know each other.

Starting money
Gold crowns 2d10 ⇒ (2, 10) = 12

Star sign 1d100 ⇒ 13
The Limner's Line -- Sign of Precision

Followed your suggestion, Changer, switched my mace for... Warhammer!

Added a couple of items to my starting gear and finished up my backstory.

AH, also everyone I apologize but Ottmar just reminded me that everyone starts with 2d10 gold not just 1d10 so add another d10 gold to your current values, and be free to add a couple traveling items to your starting gear like Ottmar has on his profile. NOTHING major, just a FEW things your character would make sure he acquired before setting out. like for example for our Gruff TOugh sell-sword Brenog, maybe some whetstones for his axe etc? :) pretty much, cosmetics stuff.

We will start VERY soon, so get those IN CHARACTER sign ons going :)

As Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways, spoken by a great colossal being in a realm where huge winged humans with the heads of predatory birds hunt the souls of their prey across a barren wasteland, and the god-like Daemon, whose features shift between that of a gigantic, mutated eagle and the face of a man so handsome it sears the eyes, sits enthroned on a chair of pure gold, where the heads of captured souls try to burst forth from within, screaming silently before melting back into the gold metal. 5 Figures cloaked in darkness with similar screaming souls wailing inside of the chaotic fabric stand before their God as he speaks, while orbs float about their patron's ever-changing head, the faces of the people of the Empire inside of each of them:

"And so the pawns fall into place one by one...See here my lovely creations of Chaos, see here my minions of anarchy...A Priest of the Corpse God Sigmar, how droll...and look a man with blade for hire, hmm a strong man, but his mind will prove still as sweet to drive to fire and madness...Yes my pets the elf will be interesting to break, such FIRE in his eyes...Ahhhh and a Student! One so young, so eager to learn! Oh the things I will teach him...things to curl those black locks of his...and here is something always to bring joy...a Noble's son, so viril and ready to prove himself with a hunger for power...yes my lovely creations of Chaos, we shall no doubt FEED that hunger...and feed it well...Spread my webs of Change! Go to each of your tasks my lovely minions. The Time of Changes...has begun!!!"

Well 10% is better than none.

Can I have Very resilient and very strong lol?

Well that is the important thing I rather have 4TB to reduce any damage I get, since I already get a +1 to melee dmg from another talent in my career. I would love to keep them both tough!.

And hardy instead of fleet-footed?

Ha ha well it is up to you Brenog :) if you want both, you are a lot like me in character creation :) so if you want to be really strong and tough you go right ahead, you rolled them, you get to choose what Brenog is like :) btw how did Brenog like the intro?
