The Pathfinder Society Field Guide has some new prestige awards that are interesting. While titles are a dime a dozen in Taldor, has anyone else taken one yet?

My character, Herger Storhoi, spent his first two PA ever to make it official: he is now Huscarl Herger Storhoi, proud former member of the Ulfen Guard and all-around bad-arse.
It is always a joy to see the newly-titled, and how they prance about as if they were a young girl showing off her new dress. Like a motherly figure, I am quite glad to be witness to such excited boasting.

I have always been in line to inherit a title in my native Ustalav, but I am pleased that Taldor has seen fit to bestow a title upon me for the services I have performed. I think it no coincidence that this recognition comes as a firmer hand takes the tiller of our faction; Dalsine's grip was always an airy and disinterested one.

I didn't get the chance to read the new book thoroughly enough. Is fame just a rename of the total PA award, or is it a new mechanic entirely?

Just a rename.
I have, along with some property, but those of us who have retired have most certainly earned such things.
