Ultimate equipment? I thought the other poster was joking.
Nope, it's true. They want to pull in all the various equipment, weapons, armor, etc. from the other books so that it's all in one place, while adding new armor, weapons, etc. They want it to be the definitive volume on gear. And it will have lots of new magic items, organized by slot. With new magical properites for weapons and armor too.
Hopefully they will then fix the starknife. Kinda rediculuous that it does d4 damage while the chacram does d6.

I'm not holding out hope that Paizo will come out with Big Book o' Polearms, but maybe polearms will get some love in Big Book o' Equipment.

I think the current schedule for things is a nice, wrist and wallet/bank account conserving method of giving us new things.

It's certainly cheaper, but I could still use more - I'm not yet at the point of having unread material when my next subscription arrives. :)

There are a number of released products which felt just a little too crowded to me - the Absalom sourcebook being the most significant

Yeah, but that's more a case of "Absalom deserves a big fat hardcover" thing, not a general "not enough space in most books" thing.

I guess everyone wants something different. I agree that an Absalom hardcover (to go with the Absalom-based AP) would be terrific. Nonetheless, it's not solely that book which I felt was overly crowded or which skimmed over things I'd prefer to have been more fleshed out. I have the same impression from just about every one of the chronicles/campaign setting line (admittedly my favorite line which probably colours my perception) - they could pretty much all have done with another sixteen pages, in my opinion. (Speaking as someone with no risk of wrist damage, of course).

You know what else I'd like to see? updates to the Half-<monster> templates. Would a half-fiend be the same even if ma or pa were a daemon as opposed to a devil as opposed to a demon? And what does a Half-Magma dragon's breath weapon manifest as? And (to my omnipresent discomfort with mentioning anything involving anthropomorphic animals and the breeding cycle in lieu of certain taboo countercultures) what sort of differences would there be between a Half-Agathion as opposed to a Half-Deva?

I'd really like to see Paizo produce some basic support for other genres using the Pathfinder rules, especially a Sword & Planet source book.

We're going to keep our focus on the Pathfinder Campaign Setting. However, we have designed our setting so that it encompasses close relatives of heroic fantasy—you'll want to check out Distant Worlds.

As for genres further afield than that, we expect third parties will be picking up that ball.

That's a book I've been waiting for years to see. I'm a big fan of the Lost Worlds Romance (ala E.R. Burroughs and his Mars series), and keep hoping for an AP touring through one or more of those worlds (I suspect that'll fall under the more experimental heading for APs, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed just the same).

My other hope for the onrushing future is word on the potential play-test/Beta for the Advanced Race Guide. More tools for the customization of my game, yay!

I believe that the future of Paizo involves me giving them quite a bit of money..

I removed a post and a reply to it. It's not worth the effort to just try and get the last word.
