In terms of spell slots I'd be willing to give up, I could spare 3 level 2 slots for Endure Elements (that's everything except Calm Emotions, which Alaric is going to hang onto because of a promise to Reta).
Endure Elements is only a 1st-level spell.
I could spare all 3 level 3 for Create Food and Water.
We probably don't need to go that far. There's only so much Consumption we can save before the other caravan jobs (guards, entertainers etc.) max out. It's certainly good to know we can pull off 20+ units of food in a pinch, though.
Incidentally, a few people might want to invest in a Perform skill to qualify as Entertainers. Hrunndalf might get a rank in singing, actually. ;)
This will severely deplete my reserves, but (assuming we're 7th level) I'll still potentially have 5 CLW, 2 CCW and 8 4d6 channels. Which is still a lot of healing.
In combat, the selective channeling is awesome and has saved our asses a few times already. Out of combat, we should probably just burn wands and keep our spell slots for other uses.

Endure Elements is a second level spell and Create Food and Water a third. So wands for the spells you mentioned don't really play into this particular calculation.
Whoops! Endure Elements is a first level spell. I was looking at communal. Time to look at this thing again...

For consumption record (for those who don't want to find it under Resting):
A single casting of goodberry creates 1 unit of provisions. A single casting of create food and water generates 3 units of provisions. A single casting of heroes’ feast is enough to generate 1 unit of provisions per caster level. All provisions magically created in this manner must be consumed on the same day they are created.

this was really great! Jimmy Fallon as Jim Morrison singing reading rainbow <-- clicky there.

doesn't goodberry require fresh berries?

Just so you all know, I am waiting on going into Dungeon Crawl Mode until a final decision is made as to whether Alaric is going to interrogate the dead.
As a reminder, bodies are automatically looted and detect magic automatically used on all items found during Dungeon Crawl Mode (unless I am specifically informed that you do not plan to do so.)

Hrunndalf Jarlsson |

Huh, it does. Well, so much for that. :\
Incidentally, isn't it weird that Create Food and Water has a fixed benefit in caravan terms when in fact the amount of food produced by the spell scales with level...?

Kyrademon |

Yes, but so few that it wouldn't normally help with consumption. (Or so I assume... I was just copying the magic food re consumption so everyone wouldn't have to find it.)
I think she was more worried about keeping a supply of fresh berries on hand in the arctic.
The spell purify food and drink can be used to turn rotten berries into fresh ones with periodic castings, so the two spells can be used synergistically if you wish to keep a supply of fresh berries on hand.

Regardless of whether there will be a séance, we should loot the bodies lying around in this hall before moving on. And we should move quickly.

Note going forward:
If you wish to make a knowledge roll to identify a creature, but do not know what kind to make, roll a d20 and list what knowledges you have (if all, you can just write "all".) If you have an appropriate one, I'll check the bonus and see if you know anything.
Asking you to roll five times is silly, and it's too much work for me at this point to check everyone's knowledges every time you have an encounter and roll on your behalf.
(If you WANT to include all your mods as well, please feel free, that is less work for me, but you don't have to.)

liothonae cromvathar |

Lio would like (but is willing to be overruled if it's really important to someone else):

1 set of masterwork thieves' tools (50gp)
2 potions of vanish (50gp)
1 scroll summon nature's ally II (75gp)
1 scroll summon nature's ally V (562.5gp)

yep, that's what i was thinking... where will i find berries? though the purify food and drink is a good idea. :)

Hrunndalf Jarlsson |

The GM does not think you could reliably count on finding snow berries whenever desired for the purposes of spell components.
Maybe potted snow berry bushes could be carried along? Though I'd figure you'd need a lot of them.
I'd better stock up on dried mint, I'm sure my pots are about to die pitifully.

Doing such a thing would probably take someone with Profession Gardener caring for them. Such as the character with the +9 in Profession Gardener ...
Incidentally, winter berries are generally poisonous, as far as I can tell, but would still work for the Goodberry spell, as it does not specify nonpoisonous berries.

would caring for plants using profession skill be possible and still do a caravan job? :) or would the creating of the berries take care of the consumption i'd be missing from not scouting?

now driving, that i'd be willing to miss ;)

Depends on the extent of it, really. Keeping a few particularly berry-laden types of winter plants healthy so you could cast Goodberry on a regular basis wouldn't be a problem.
Keeping a greenhouse-type multi-plant garden going on the road in addition to that would be a full-time job, and would not allow for scouting. It would be the equivalent, in mechanical game effect, of taking a Cook position on the Caravan.

Kalimac Proudfoot |

Incidentally, a few people might want to invest in a Perform skill to qualify as Entertainers. Hrunndalf might get a rank in singing, actually. ;)
That's a good idea. Since Kalimac has already been reading aloud the halfling epics, I think I'll give him a rank in Perform: Oratory at 7th level. Giving a little breadth in our entertainment dollar, as it were.

Rhost Mab-i-gof |

Finally have time to sit down and start leveling Rhost. If anyone has any language suggestions, feel free to suggest. It will probably be the very last thing detail that I cement. (The Rage power will be penultimate).
I've also not seen Boondock Saints, although the documentary Overnight was worth watching -- and has erased any desire I might ever have had to see the movie.
Also, no claims.
