Hrunndalf:
First two are good. Ameiko does not eat cheese. Do you need prices on those, or are you going with standard list prices?

Bonsai - Sapling would not be available this time of year. I could roll for seeds, if you like. Bonsais are not grown by Erutaki, so they could not furnish you with appropriate lore, but feel free to ask among the characters IC if you like.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

DM:
Yes, please do roll for the seeds. I'll take list prices for the rest of the stuff.

Hrunndalf:
I rolled, and tree seeds are not available in Iqaliat. Trees do not grow in the arctic tundra, but since it's at least nearish to a major trading route I gave it a 75% chance. I'll give similar chances in towns and villages on the other side of the ice, so you should be able to find them eventually, but likely not at this level.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

DM:
Fair enough. Maybe I'll also find an actual potted bonsai by the time that becomes feasible. In any case, I don't mind having something casual to talk to Ameiko about for the time being.

Kalimac, would you mind tossing the repair mode notes in their own spoiler so it is easier for Kyrademon to find.

And our security decreases by 1 and morale increases by 1 (for +19 security, +17 morale) when we are in a repair mode. (I noticed that line hadn't printed into the pdf after I uploaded it.)

And thank you for maintaining the more easily read version :)

I've updated the alias. Is this what you were thinking?

I think Jorun is now in the wagon with Tollin. Are we missing the royal carriage from the sheet, or did i just overlook it?

True - Jorun should be in the wagon with Tollin instead of Kelda. The Royal Wagon seems to be missing from the sheet, and contains Rhost, Kelda, Skygni, and Spivey. Also, Helgarval should probably go on the sheet just as a reminder he's there - I'd put him in the men's wagon (Armored Wagon A) since he hangs out there a good chunk of the time.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Other that Helgarval, the sheet I put up does have everyone where they are supposed to be. The helmet angel shall be added.

That's what I get for trying to eyeball what's changed on Mel's sheet and then recreating those changes on the alias. I've fixed the errors Lio and Kyrademon caught.

I'd appreciated any other eyeballs looking for accuracy.

One of these days Kalimac is going to start wondering where Attatoq gets the paper for his notes....

well, he hasn't asked Lio for any, but she would certainly give him paper and something to write with.

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Phone posting is interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about auto correct. Now if I had time to take a lunch break, I could post in the middle of the day.

I'm sure she would. And Kalimac has some paper of his own. But given that Kyrademon hasn't asked either of us to deduct from our supplies tells me either that someone else in the caravan is giving Attatoq some, or else he bought some of his own in back in Kalsgard. And a pen, apparently.

Attatoq's dark and mysterious secrets will never be unearthed!

Unless someone asks him or something.

awwww <3's the Attatoq.

OK. Heading off to Zurich. Expect my posting schedule over the next few days, until Sunday night, to be light.

Onward!

I don't think I'm going to start digging. There are some things that man (and hobbit) just wasn't meant to know.

i suppose that will mean, woman, and elf, will just have to find out for herself... ;)

You're on the train to Zurich, you international man of mystery! Drink a martini! And have fun :)

Sure, if she thinks her sanity can survive the shocks. :)

Hi all have internet but weird keyboard hard to type with will do my best.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

If you have a Swiss keyboard, the brackets should be located in the same place as on the US keyboard, except that you have to add AltGr (or probably just Alt on a Mac). The rest of the symbols should be marked on the hardware.

Hey, it could be worse. You could have a French keyboard. Those are maddeningly mixed up.

Th5s 5s what 5t 3662s 352e when 5 s50*3y ty*e n6r0a33y.

That is what it looks like when I simply type normally.

Makes posting a bit difficult.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

I've seen that before. If you push the Num Lock key, that usually toggles it back to the normal keys. I had a laptop that would default to that configuration, and I had to press Num Lock every morning when I booted it up or else I'd get numbers interspersed with my English.

THANK YOU!

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

I take it that fixed it?

It did indeed. :)

(On an unrelated note - it is impossible to either make or assist a diplomacy check across a language barrier.)

Liothonae:
The Staff would by now be fully charged, then.

And now I will be incommunicado for roughly 24 hours, and then back on the usual posting update schedule.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Totally out of context quotes that will get you in trouble:

"Feel free to move my head anywhere, I'm easy." (Mana to Jess)

Home, and able to write about the weather up there a little more authoritatively now.

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Rhost should (finally) be leveled up. And also, I have hit the character limit of the "Languages" field on the Profile.

Rhost is APPROVED.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Kyrademon:
We believe Lio to be leveled.

Her purchases/money from encounters has not been updated.

And Jess says "Hi!"

Male Half-elf Barbarian

We are stopping to fix the Caravan during this blizzard, yes?

Male Halfling Cavalier 10
Rhost Mab-i-gof wrote:

I certainly hope so.

The current default policy is to stop for repairs as soon as they are needed, to prevent the possibility of going into a second Caravan combat with low hit points - like casting healing spells after a combat.

This policy could, of course, be changed by party vote.

The reason NPCs are not going to take up spells offered to anyone in the group who wants them are twofold:

(1) I feel that precedence on such spells should be given to PCs that might want them, for metastory reasons. You guys are the Characters. So the NPCs will not jump in when a PC might want the spell.

(2) For similar reasons, I feel that as much should come from you guys as possible. While I am comfortable having NPCs pointing out things that are obvious good strategy that I would have mentioned OOC in a tabletop game ("Resist Cold is a spell all of us are going to need here"), I'm less comfortable actually determining the disposition of your spells for you.

In case is comes up:

Resist Energy cast by Koya or Spivey provides Cold Resistance 10.

Resist Energy cast by any PC provides Cold Resistance 20.

Resist Energy cast by Suishen provides Cold Resistance 30.

All are sufficient to completely prevent environmental cold damage.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

I can cast another Magic Circle if I sacrifice another 4th-level slot (I already did so for Rhost's circle). I only have 2 more of those, and each could be a Cure Critical, Wall of Fire, or Blind one enemy for one round, no questions asked. Kalimac can have the circle if he insists; otherwise I suggest he stay close to either Hrunndalf or Rhost during combat to get the bonuses.

And of course, he could always get a Shield of Faith for +3 deflection bonus to AC instead. In fact, anyone can, if they ask. Note that it doesn't stack with the circles, though.

Hrunndalf will gladly accept an Air Walk if no-one else claims it, but he does have boots, so I suppose there are better choices.

Is it too late to see whether the gap in the causeway is trapped? E.g. with a crumbling edge?

Hrunndalf Jarlsson wrote:

As you can see from the map, you have entered combat rounds before anyone reached the edge to check. Feel free to check no your action if you like. Looking for a trap is a Perception Check that takes a move action.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Whose idea was it to make jump checks Dex-based? Grmpf.

If I were designing the game, I'd make an Acrobatics (Dex) and an Athletics (Str) skill, like in 4E. Some things would be fixed, like Acrobatics for tumbling and Athletics for heavy lifting, but things like climbing and jumping could be done with either.

I am glad I waited until after my trip to start the Storm Tower.

Well, the posting will get simpler as either they or you get deader.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Just give the black goo another round or two... :P

I could use myself another pair of arms.

If the strange horrible bile-vomiting drool-monsters don't have a problem with it, how bad could it really be?

Grape slushie ice cream headache.

Oh! Random rules question -- is that 1d5 roll (and others of its type) per round or per attack? I was assuming the latter.

Rhost Mab-i-gof wrote:

Miss chance due to concealment is per attack, not per round.

(It was irrelevant while you were blind, incidentally, but will be a factor again if you continue to attack the fungus next round when you have your sight back.)

I don't know what Kalimac did to shift the invisible bullseye to Liothonae, but I suggest you do it twice.
