Best ways to use gear, feats, items, and whatnot uniquely

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I know there must be lists of these out there, been looking without any luck. I would like to gather a list of everyone's favorite unique ways with using gear "differently". One of my favorite characters a few years ago in 3.5 had skill ranks in "profession MacGuyver" and to this day was one of the most fun characters ever played. Just a rouge with lots of skill points everywhere doing weird things. In addition to making the game master tweak he was equally good as the mage or fighter because of always thinking outside the box. The following is what I am talking about.

-flour for finding invisible creatures/tracking footprints
-ten foot pole for traps/depth finding/attaching spear head to
-decanter of endless water as a motor for a row boat
-putting your gems in your waterskin because no one pick pockets that
-chalk for dungeon dives
-oil for silencing hinges/making things slippery or flammable
-net = hammock
-dispel magic on people flying
-lasso (used to trip a mummy then string up from a rafter as piñata)
-witerblanket + 10 foot pole cut in half = stretcher for dead pc
-animate dead =zombie farm horses that never stop plowing
-grease spell + bottom of lg shield = fast sled

Not as lethal as one would hope:

Should the spell duration expire while the subject is still aloft, the magic fails slowly. The subject floats downward 60 feet per round for 1d6 rounds. If it reaches the ground in that amount of time, it lands safely. If not, it falls the rest of the distance, taking 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet of fall. Since dispelling a spell effectively ends it, the subject also descends safely in this way if the fly spell is dispelled, but not if it is negated by an antimagic field.

But still funny from great height.

Some of these I've seen, most of them I'm stealing, all of them I love.

always have an edged piece of wood to jam a door.
Later immovable rod does the job, or rope between 2 immovable rod for trip wire.

My favorite is everburning torch but on the tip of a wizards hat with a reflective outside and a black inside.
If you need to hide, flip it on the other side, if you need a focused lantern push it inside out and you get concentrated light.
Only if you want to be invisible, put the hat in your bag of holding.
