Hi,

Just seen this feat and wondering:
1. Is it worth it and
2. What spells would you take.
I thought maybe 1- Wrath (stacks with Divine Favor)
2- Spear of Purity
3-Terrible Remorse
4- Divine Power

(I've got a pally build who went TWF, but i may try to squeeze this in.)

Also, Is divine Interferance worth it? (For a Cleric)

Dark Archive

Considering the brokeness of Terrible Remorse, I'd rather take Good Hope.

Have you re-checked Terrible Remorse?

It's been FAQ'd by Jason in the PFSRD that the 'sit and do nothing' part ends after the round you cast it.

So the spell is basically an I cast and you lose 1 action spell. Still good, but not the ZOMG! we first thought.

Good Hope is nice though, I'll definately consider it.

Dark Archive

Even the FAQ'd Terrible Remorse is still broken. The ability to shut down an enemy for one round is too good for a third level spell, even when the victim has the option to just take damage each round by failing the save.

Maybe too good for a wiz or cleric, but by the time the Paladin gets 3rd level spells the full casters are doing some freaky stuff. DM said he'll allow it since your wasting your action to cancel theirs...

What about the other levels- the ones i picked are basically 'I hit harder'. Already not a problem, so I'd go for something outside the Pally's normal toolset.

Further- divine interference seems a potent use of an immediate action- am i wrong?

I was thinking of pputting this in a Battle/Support Cleric of Imodae build...

Liberty's Edge

I did find it a bit entertaining that succeeding in the saving throw for Terrible Remorse is actually worse than failing it. I'd much rather take a bit of damage here and there than not be able to act for a round on a successful save.

Example of brokenness: Four member party, each is able to cast terrible remorse. Fighting a creature such as a powerful dragon, with great saves. The party cycles through with one member casting terrible remorse each round, shutting the dragon down, while the rest of the party wails on it.

Honestly, I see no reason why a typical CR 20 creature cannot be killed by a 7th level party when *someone* in the party can penetrate its DR/regen if the party uses multiple castings of Terrible Remorse. At least as long as it doesn't have SR and is not immune to mind effects.

Yay for a party of 7th level characters easily murdering a 20th level fighter by making him feel bad for being too powerful?

Yeah, Terrible Remorse still needs to be fixed - maybe making the target *staggered* rather than unable to act if they succeed in the save, hmmm Jason?

Is there any particular reason that said CR 20 creature (or the aforementioned 20th level fighter) couldn't simply relent its saving throw?

He wouldn't know that the particular spell was being cast.

Did you end up taking the feat STR?

I think my Paladin that took this feat got:

1- Grease
2- Invisibility
3- Scrying
4- Hmm don't remember which this was

Very fun feat though

I went with featherstep (low movt twf pallys hate difficult terrain)
Invisibilty
Terrible Remorse
Divine power.

Only played him at high enough for invisibility, fun though. Was pointed out to me a pally could UMD most spells by the time Divine Power comes online. Not a bad feat but maybe not optimal..

using bard list
1 vanish
2 mirror image
3 haste
4 freedom of movement

also take oath against the wyrm, now you have
1 enlarge person
2 bears endurance
3 fly
4 stoneskin

now you are a walking arsenal of arcane might, very handy if your group doesnt have a true arcane (ours doesnt, just an alchemist)
