How much should we expect these events to cost us? Will we be expected to keep buying food or at least drinks every hour? How expensive is the menu? How far is this place from both the airport and the convention center?
Thanks
I was a player from NYC who went to Origins with only a week to plan such. Managed to do 7 of 10 slots with generics. Now I planed 11 days out and am hoping for similar luck. I always wear a vest and glasses while pulling my long hair into a pony tail.

I don't believe they expect you to be buying on the hour .. however, I'm sure they'll want you to buy something.

someone told me it was about 5 blocks from the convention center to Scotty's

AS for getting slots .. it's looks like there are plenty of openenings on the warhorn site, take a gander and sign-up and you'll be guaranteed a slot

From having been there last year, they don't seem to be picky about how often you order, but it's a little hectic at the tables. Expect to at least need to order a bottomless soda, and maybe a meal. At a guess, that'll be about 15 dollars including tip.

I thought I linked out their website as well, but I guess not.

There isn't really an expectation on a $$ amount per visit that I'm aware of, but it's reasonable to assume that they hope you do more then order a soda and spend 12 hours in the place. Menus can be found here. It's about 14 miles from the airport and is downtown where the Convention Center is located and about a 10 minute walk from the Convention Center.

Hope that helps!

1/5

Yeah, I was going to say even if you do stick to the soda, you should definitely leave a very generous tip (I actually opened a second tab after I had finished eating and before my game and left a 5 dollar tip on the second for my waiter, but that's just me.)

Once you see/smell the food at Scotty's, you'll be compelled to order often and in large quantities. :-)

Nervous about sitting at the big boy & girl table of lv 11 pcs but it was the only table i could play that was not full. If a spot opens at Mantis Prey, I would happily switch. Conversly, I look foward to another table with Kyle and a 1st with Thea.

I'm only actually making 1 PFS event atm unless I get some in at Scotty's ahead of time. So take my table for the special and I've got you covered! (We'll be playing the 8-9 version assuming it has the same level ranges as last years)

Don't you set that up when you enter the scenario? it asks for level ranges, but maybe that changed.

Hey guys,
Will there be a cost associated (other then food at Scottys) to attend the event?

-Skip
-Because I can.

Dark Archive

For Mantis' Prey My striker(Monk) didnt make 7th so I am playing my 10th level cleric. It will be the land of casters. It should be an interesting MOD I am looking forward to it.
Medic/Support 10
Controller 10
Medic/Support 7
Arcane Caster 8
Arcane Caster 9
Divine Caster 8

I dont know how things will go with no tank/front line guy, I guess I will take my turn. Not you standard affair and that is why it should be fun.

If you're playing at my table I require a blood sacrifice. Is that a high enough cost for a game?

P.S. - The answer was up above. No cost except associated with being a nice guy and buying food/drinks at the restaurant since you're taking up table space from them.

Chot,

I agree, it will be a very strange table indeed.
I will miss the obligatory barbarian or fighter (Thalvish, we need you now more than ever!)

Fear not, as always, Team Cheliax will prevail (thanks to the might of Asmodeus, all hail his righteous name).

Who will be our melee beatstick... that I can't figure out right now.
You might do well in that role, with the appropriate buffs. Your elementals will certainly help out in that regard as well.

Hmm.

Guess we'll see on Weds night.

No, the Guide expressly says "a GM may allow up to seven players." So as much as you'd like to run an 8 or 9 player table of Voice in the Void I'm afraid the rules do not allow it :)

I did that once while running Living Dragonstar. My other GM didn't show up for a slot, and 11 players showed up. I wasn't going to turn away an entire table of players.

So I told them they had two choices. 6 would randomly roll to see who got to sit at the table. Or I'd run an 11 person table for social stuff and in combats I drew a line down the center of the battle mat and simultaneously ran two combats.

Wouldn't suggest doing that ever again. I was EXHAUSTED afterwards. The players were all good sports and enjoyed the slot I think.

I can see how you might think the "but the Guide doesn't say I can't" defense might work here. However, I'll point you to the words "up to" which by definition excludes every number over 7. Lawyered. =)

Thanks to all who set this up....I just signed up for a game at 7 pm: #02-18: The Forbidden Furnace of Forgotten Koor.

OK. Finally signed up via Warhorn. I will commit for the 11PM-4AM Decline of Glory. I'll play a Cleric 3. I'd love to play the 7pm Shades of Ice (Cleric 3) but...

As an old-time 3.5 player who has not had a chance to play Pathfinder yet :(, is it appropriate for me to register for one of these sessions? Or is a minimum of expertise with Pathfinder expected? If it isn't, maybe it's more appropriate that I just drop by and watch the games?

Thanks for the advice!

Any real 3.5 vet probably has enough experience to jump into Pathfinder and have fun. I'm sure there's articles around here somewhere on the big differences, but for the most part it's pretty easy.

Luis, it looks like the Shades of Ice series (all 3 parts) have some level 1 players already signed up. I'd probably be perfect for you to get into any or all of those depending on how much time you have/when you arrive in Indy etc. If you are an old-time 3.5 player you are ready to sit down and play Pathfinder.

Hope to see you at Scotty's!

All my home players (7) are recently coverted from 3.5 to Pathfinder and I didn't really have to explain anything to them. Their are minor differences, but it's pretty much the same, especially at level 1. You should be fine.
