Dear Michael Kortes - Stop Being So Awesome

I've expressed my gratitude for Michael's modules in the past, now it's time to do it again. I had the distinct pleasure of running The Mantis's Prey for Pathfinder Society at PaizoCon and I honestly have to say it is one of my favorites to date (with my absolute #1 favorite being Silent Tide, another Michael Kortes original). As with all of Michael's modules, it has a lot to do with a great blend of action and roleplay opportunities. If I were to name the top-10 module/adventure products Paizo has put out, I think Mr. Kortes' name will be popping up on more than one occasion.

So here's my request. Write more! Specifically, write for PFS. Don't let the AP and module players get all the fun (okay let them have some of the fun), but spread the love a little, because honestly, you're one of my favorite module authors to date. Thanks again for the great adventures.

People, please!
The man has other resposibilities in his life besides writing!

Like running PFS scenarios at Ontario conventions. :)

Aww shucks guys!

Ryan - very glad the Mantis Prey went well for your group! I really enjoyed putting that one together and was nervous about it.

Props to Mark and Paizo for their hard work on it - and to Christopher West for the insanely nice waterfall map. It turned out so well.

P.S. Totally missed this thread - thanks for pick-me-up.

Feel free to post that list, btw. :)

"War of the Wielded" should be on there

I absolutely agree! That's a great adventure.

I and my group liked that one a lot! I dropped it into the Savage Tide AP, and even now at level 9 one of the PCs is still carrying around Saberhawk.

I love War of the Wielded, and the adventure where the PCs need to travel into the underdark to recover an explorer's corpse (Final Resting Place?).

His work fits better into my campaigns and my way of playing than just about any other - particularly back in the days of Dungeon, where the lack of a common world meant a greater degree of variation in the assumptions underlying any particular adventure.

I'll post mine. I may have done so before in a different thread but I can't recall.

10 Crypt of the Everflame (best level 1 intro game ever, worked especially well as we all played 15 year olf humans on our tests of manhood)

9 Clash of the Kingslayers (I love giant monsters, and making one a dungeon is pure awesome)

8 Souls For Smugglers Shiv (enjoyed the companions and exploration)

7 The Sixfold Trial (the play was awesome)

6 Broken Moon (werewolves!)

5 Hangman's Noose (cool and creepy, loved the NPCs)

4 Carnival of Tears (pure fun)

3 Conquest of the Bloodsworn Vale (noticing I like player driven stuff?)

2 Tower of the Last Baron (the 5th column stuff here is how CotCT book 5 should have been)

1 Seven Days to the Grave (best adventure you guys have done)

Kingmaker might make it to the list one day but in our group it floundered due to the Kingdom building minigame being a bit tedious. One day we will pick it up again.

As I have said in other threads mostly to James what I want to see most is big battle/Mendev stuff.

Wait a second, 20 years ago. . . (does the math) - this isn't Sean "Lefty" Walsh is it? Holy crap! Minos?! ZOG!?!?! How you been?

How do I get in touch with you? I've put an email address in my profile (to avoid spam bots). If you see this email me man!

P.S. Slanky/VC Ryan - I think I owe you double for this thread now.
