Reaper has it listed for: 20026: Bugbear ($4.99) - about double. It's probably an error - wholesale price being mixed up with the retail price. Or it's a tremendous deal!
Hmmm I do need more bugbears.
[edit] Gah! Curse you postal strike![/edit]
Well that is why I waited until I had mine in hand before I asked, just in case.

Just for the record, I have every D&D Pre-Painted Mini. I will gladly add any and all Paizo Pre-Painted Mini to my collection. The more the merrier.
Nice! Do you have them displayed? Any pics? I missed the pre-painted thing, and I kinda regret it. I have lots of old-skool metals, but the plastics look pretty good now that I Google a few of the pics. The only ones I picked up were the big things like the Collossal Red and Orcus.

I've been reflecting on this a bit and have to agree that expecting the average gamer to buy huge cases of minis isn't really sensible. I just got carried away by my enthusiasm.
Plus, recently, a Paizo staff member indicated Paizo wishes to focus on what Paizo does best.
So, here are my new thoughts...
> Relevancy, Direct tie to Paizo product (Bestiaries or adventures, etc.)
> Quality of sculpt, but I'm no longer needing heavy plastic - - -its taken me time, but a slightly lesser quality for those who actually "use" the mini, rather than keep in plastic bag, is a concession I think would be okay for most. Though I cannot say I'm certain. For me, quality is actually not as important as Usability. But that's not saying it would lack quality overall, but rather balance cost of production versus cost to customer in light of making it useful.
> More completeness of foes from the Bestiaries - this is perhaps an old idea, but I always felt it was silly that the worlds greatest game doesn't is one where you cannot actually "buy" all the pieces. I've played since 1983, so I've had my share of playing without eye-candy, now I love it and want some more of it. I was always frustrated with the wotci line, wondering why they spent such amounts of energy on things that never got used... and wondered how I got stuck with so many "commons" that never see the light of game.

Or they're equally frustrated at having to buy MORE random packs to fill out the numbers of what should be common critters.
Except those uncommon Ogres cost $2-3 on the secondary markets. Exactly like they should.
By the 5th set release I had stopped buying boosters entirely in DDM and bought only cases and the singles the case purchase didn't get me. In the last 5 sets I bought only singles from the secondary markets.
Best thing about the secondary market? I sold off some of my rares and bulks of my common & uncommons for more money than I ever spent on DDM. Nowadays it seems the bottom has completely dropped out of that market and, with few exceptions, second hand minis are cheaper now than ever.

Naw... when WotC first announce that LoM was the last set, minis prices fell off a cliff. At this point I was buying abberations complete sets on ebay for $150-$200. Now that there are no PPM available as packs, prices have gone up exponentially. An Abberations set sold this week (same description picture as the ones I bought) for $499. I kinda wish I kept some of those sets longer

As far as the argument of "random" vs. "non-random", here is how I see it. Having random sets is better than having nothing at all. In my humble opinion (and since I am not a marketing expert this is indeed my opinion only), as long as the pieces are relevant to the game then everything should sell well with random sets.

I WANT PREPAINTED MINIS. I have been a gamemaster my whole life. I would like to have a horde of orcs, undead, goblins, dwarves, etc. I especially want prepainted samurai. that's right. Already painted so I can use in my RPG. Not looking to run miniature war games. Though When I play L5R I created my own miniature rules for somewhere between miniature war games and RPG. The failure of L5R Clan Wars was that they had to be assembled and painted. Trust me if they sold packs of clan samurai for each clan at a relatively cheap price BUT were prepainted and covered the different clan units they would have made more money. Me being a GM I would have bought all of them for every clan. But again I say I DONT WANT TO PAINT them myself. I want PRE-PAINTED minis. Of all kinds but especially D&D and Samurai.
