Dark Archive

I am planning to go an event this weekend. I have not made a charater yet is ok to go planning to play a pre-made. I guess I am wanting to check out the event and see how it goes before making a commitment.

It's not a problem. If you haven't checked it out yet, here are the offical level 1 pre-made PCs on this page. Selection which one you wish to play and have a good time!

Pre-made Characters

Dark Archive 4/5 5/55/55/5 Venture-Agent, Indiana—Lafayette

Also if you have the time to show up early there will probably be someone available to help you build a more personalized character. Especially if none of the pregens tickle your fancy.

What Cactus-Jack said, Mr. glwalker52402.

If you want to send me an email (address is under my name) of what kind of character you want (race, class, gender, focus) I could have a nice PDF to you after a few email exchanges.

We can easily build you a character that is more you and built to rock and roleplay.

Like most of the PFS community, I am happy to help.

Also remember that if you think you will enjoy playing in the Pathfinder Society organized system, the only way to get a chronicle sheet and xp and gold from the game you try is to either use a character you make yourself or to keep the pregen character you use as your own character. The pregen characters are also played without having a faction the first time you use one, so you will miss out on that part of Society play your first time through if you do not make your own character.

I encourage all first-time players, including those playing pregens to chose a faction before we begin play. If you have a faction and complete your mission(s), you will get PA, even if you're playing through with a pregen on your first adventure.

I agree with Ryan.
And even if you choose to never use the pre-gen again, having a faction and trying the missions gives you a more complete tryout of Pathfinder Society play.

I hope you get to play this time glwalker52402, and have a good time to boot !

Hey, I am a new player. As in I just got the beginner box today and opened it new. Haven't even started my first game or the solo mission included to let you get a feel for how the game plays. I have never played a tabletop RPG. So I don't know what to really expect from this game but I am anxious to play. So I would like to know one thing that I have tried to find an answer to. Where do I start after the beginner box? What is the next step?

Hello!

You've wandered into the pathfinder society organized play section of the boards: the all official and everything games. This is A very good way to play the game and find some players, but just to let you know there are other ways to play the game to. With that said...

A role playing game works a lot like a computer game, with the DM (dungeon master, game master, guy behind the screen) acting as the computer. The difference is that while a computer is limited to set programmed responses the DM can react to ANYTHING you can come up with as a solution. So the only limits are your imagination, your characters abilities, and the luck of a 20 sided die.

Since you're not starting up with a home group, I would try

Checking here for a meatspace game

and/or clicking pfschat.com for finding online games and answering questions in real time.

For how the whole society thing works this unofficial guide should make the real guide make a little more sense.

Maybe not *anything.* I have seen a few GMs react with a slightly stunned expression for a minute, followed by "Wait, you do WHAT?"
