This is Nug. Not finished filling out everything. Still putting all stats and other junk in...just let me know if you guys like the idea, etc.

All coming along nicely... and I'm quite happy with a large party, at least some might stick around :)

DaWay:

Dots appear automagically on threads in which you post, but cannot be relied upon as they sometimes vanish for no reason. Use the 'FOCUS' toggle at the top of the section to see your dotted threads.

If you are making a post, look at the bottom of the window in which you are typing. You will see 'BBCode tags you can use:' and a SHOW button - click on this and it explains how to do bold, italic, spoilers, etc., and how to roll dice (er, use the board die roller, I guess you probably know how to roll a die already!).

OOC: Job interview tomorrow (Friday), not sure when I'll get online

Alright, so my WIP fighter is just about 90% finished. The background could use some refining though that depends entirely on the opinion of the DM - the idea is that whatever the plot of the CoT-game, he's hired to assist / further the goal of the party, and he'll help, no questions asked. Very open-ended.

He also needs a name. Other than that, he's my submission for this.

Oh, and he's found in my profile. I haven't thought of a name yet (as mentioned earlier) so I haven't made a separate page yet.

Lantern Lodge

Hey Patcher after reading your story I had the thought that maybe your characters father could have been one of Kara's "johns". It would give our two characters a loose connection at the least.

I burst out laughing. It's a brilliant idea. Poor Kara, seriously, my char's father was a right monster. Granted, he probably won't remember Kara or doesn't care, but yeah, their pasts could be intertwined that way.

Lantern Lodge

Just trying to set her up with some past demons and dark past. The idea is to portray her through acting and bluff as kind of bumbling and clutsy face when she is actually quite capable. Kind of like the whole Clark Kent/superman paradox.

Throwing what I have done up. Lost a lot of info when a post got eaten...

Background wise, she's going to be someone very interested in catching up with an organized resistance to Westcrown's government. Sorta a Robin Hood type, though she's not very charismatic and would prefer to keep as low a profile as possible. If you've ever played the Thief games from Eidos, this character is Robin Hood meets a female Garret.

Got a little more done with Nug. Check it out. Still have all the other stuff here at the house on good old paper. Takes me too long to transfer everything over. But I swear, I shall not eat or drink or sleep until it is all up. Ok...maybe I will eat and drink stuff, but no sleeping! Oh wait, I have to go to work tonight...hmm, need lots of sleep. Well, I will get it up ASAP.

alright, still working on the details of the back story, and the dang forum won't give me enough characters so i had to use 3 instead of III.

but basically anatoly's grandfather was a very famous dancing bear that performed with what at the time was the city's most popular acting troupe. kept in line with a magical collar, he performed in many plays. a group of halfling freedom fighter broke the collar during a performance, and anatoly I left a trail of mayhem that included many nobles in the audience.

anatoly I and II were both very smart, yet normal bears that died while anatoly III was still very young. awaken was cast on him while he was still a cub, by a druid friendly to the halflings.

got a few more things working, but that should give you the gist. a lot of mechanical stuff is already in the profile. still need to know if racial hit dice are required and how ability score adjustments should be handled.

Hey. You might want to check out the Pathfinder Book "The Noble Wild" by Skirmisher Publishing. The whole book is dedicated to playing Animals with Pathfinder rules. It also has a neat option of playing an wild animal with a human companion. Kind of role reversal. I'll try to get a chance to scan through my copy for the notes on awakened bears, and give you some input.

You can take levels of "noble bear", and levels of bear as a character class.

still working this one up....

I am fairly happy with him!

I hope you like as well!

Liberty's Edge

The Noble Wild is an acceptable resource.

Let me know when you are all ready, and I'll see about weaving you all in and getting the show (back) on the road...

Megan:
To weave me in, you might say that I've been tracking the heroes and watching from afar (the rooftops of Westcrown), ready to jump in when I'm most needed. She stays hidden on the rooftops generally, like a vigilante, and uses her air abilities and archery as a type of "Death-from-above" identity.

I'm confused - are you saying we're all in? :O

In which case I need to fix my character and give him an actual name and proper page. Hrrrrrr!

Will get that done asap, at the very least. Which will still not be until this evening since I already have plans. Ack.

As for involvement (if I'm not utterly misunderstanding everything), my character (who still has no name) is... hired to help the particular party by an unknown benefactor?

Since there are a few other people on this, and with an idea to not clog things up too much, I'll withdraw

Here's Greyson Hreim, AKA Patcher's "The Reaper".

Is there a deadline for a decision?

Liberty's Edge

Hello... this has gone a bit quiet. Better stir it with a stick...

Yes, anyone who wants in is in. Easier that way.

Sound off, please, who's playing. Then I'll poke the game into life.

Really must stop poking things. One will turn out to be a wasp nest or something...

I'd like to join still.

Salm is ready to rock and roll.

Liberty's Edge

Excellent...

Where's the bear at?

Never mind.

Greyson:
Do you need a contract arranging? Or shall we leave that as background?

For newcomers: Why are you in Westcrown? Do you already know about the rebellious crowd, or will you know the other PCs for other reasons?

Megan Robertson wrote:

Megan:

Either works for me. As a player I'm going to be loyal to the party, and I won't intentionally be a douche - doing the contract arrangement would be interesting, though.

Salm worships Milani, the goddess of uprisings. Rebellion is what he does. The rebellious crowd are converts whether or not they realize it.

Just to be sure
1- 20pt buy
2- 2nd level
3- average wealth
4- core and apg
5- ultimate magic?
6- playtest (ultimate combat)?
7- other??

still lurking

Sovereign Court

I've got a character I'm dying to try out. I just started working on him yesterday, but I'm really eager to give him a try. I used 15 point buy, but I can up it if need be.

Edit: wait how many players, I wanted to try this out in a standard party, a huge party takes away from the challange as there are more people to take up the slackm and also means more baddies which makes it harder to work with.

We currently have 5, but if we have more, I'm sure Megan can increase the monster load.

Faey is still down...

quicky background:
She is in Westcrown running from a previous job that went a little south (can provide more on that later, shouldn't matter any more than the DM wants it to for this campaign), and been here about a year. She promised herself she would keep a low profile (as much as someone with snakes for hair can) but after a year spent in this town, she's itching to strike back at the hell-knights/government and wake these people up.

Liberty's Edge

Salm: 1-6 yes, 7 you may use other sources just tell me what they are (if I haven't got them you will need to go into detail...).

Lastknight: He sounds quite fun, but look at what else we have and decide if it's a suitable arena for him. Your call.

Gerinelle: Don't give DMs ideas like that :)

Faey: Sounds good... you might want to wear a headscarf, though. The hijab has its uses!!!

Hmmm...would love to continue with this, as I've heard some very good things about you as a DM Megan, but I just got in on a Ptolus game, and that's something that doesn't come around near often enough. If things fall through with that I'll head back this way and see if your in need of players, but for now I'm going to bow out.

Liberty's Edge

OK, Fraust, enjoy your Ptolus, and if/when you wish to play with me you will be welcome.

Maybe I'll dig out my copy of Ptolus one of these days... :)

Are there any spots left at all? I have been following a Kingmaker game you have been running for a while now and would love to join one of your games. Flexible character concept depending on what is needed by group

One last quick question, when you mean average wealth, do you mean starting wealth for a level 2 character?

Megan Robertson wrote:

You would be a heroine the likes of which I've never had before were you to do this thing you say...

As a note Hero Lab does not put the spellbooks into statblocks, and also does not have Ultimate Magic in it yet.

1-level Magus Spells: Shield, Burning Hands, Magic Missile, Corrosive Touch (In Ult Mag), Frostbite (In Ult Mag)

Kyper - that looks all right. I accept Ultimate Magic even if HeroLab doesn't!

Jestem - if you'd like to play, you'll be welcome. I'm thinking of firing this puppy up again this coming Monday (to give everyone time to put finishing touches to characters, work out - with me and with the other players - how we get the newcomers involved, etc.), so get that character made. You will be 2nd level, so give yourself appropriate average starting wealth, please.

Fraust - you tempter. But you've got a Ptolus game anyway!

Megan:

We discussed it earlier - I think it'd be easier if Greyson was already hired.

It'll accept it beginning of next month. Yay us. :)

;) It's nearly a thousand page book about a single city, I think there's plenty of material there for two or three or a dozen campaigns. Also, I'm not expecting you to go digging for the book now...or at least not right now...

Liberty's Edge

Megan, if you ever start a Ptolus game, I'd like to get involved as a player, especially if you allow Arcana Evolved. I've never played, but I've heard great stuff about Ptolus.

Liberty's Edge

Let's get this rolling first...

But I'll give Ptolus consideration... managed to snag the PDF version in a sale on DriveThru a couple of years back and still haven't read all of it!

Have a provisional Malthur Wilk, a Half Elf Inquisitor. Will post the background etc later on this evening.
Basic stats going up now though

Amending my previous post to mention that fully set up character by the name of Malthur Wilk is now posted as an Alias. Please feel free to peruse and decide whether the character is legal. I have approximately 500gold left to use, but no idea what to do it. Any suggestions that you have I would appreciate.

Bowing out. I just joined another Council of Thieves game, so I'm avoiding cross-contamination and spoilers.

Liberty's Edge

Have fun, Mr Bollynocker.

Where's this Mathur Wilk, Safrac?

Megan Robertson wrote:

I would like to jump in as well if you still have room. Working up a character concept now.

I was thinking of making an alchemist who makes pyrotechnics for stage shows. A little bit crazy, he is constantly pushing the edges of safety. He is also conducting experiments on the side into improving the physical forms of creatures. I will have a character up soon.

Here is Grixie. She is a female Half-orc alchemist and master of special effects and pyrotechnics for stage performances. She is also a little bit crazy and is always talking about conspiracies going on in Westcroft, from giant alligators in the sewers that are put there by the secret societies to protect their secret sanctums (they conduct bizarre rituals down there to their twisted scarlet crab god!), to the fact that she only drinks the water after boiling it because the city rulers put mind controlling substances in it (it's true! I saw them doing it once and don't tell me it was just someone emptying a chamber pot!), to the fact that the Council of Thieves never was abolished in the city (they only wanted us to think they were destroyed so they could rule without our knowledge! It's true!)
