I often find that I have 4 hour periods of time that don't quite coincide with the locals in my area. I like the idea of Pathfinder via online formats, but I'm not a big fan of the cost of the current visual programs, and PBP is a bit too slow. 6 months for 4 hours of play is a bit excessive IMO. So, the only way I'm left with is via some form of telecommunications which led me to skype which is free.
So, here is my proposal. Who would like to try running a scenario over skype with me? If there is some interest here, I'll figure out how to resolve dice rolling, (I think there is a free multi-viewer app, but I have a backup plan if not). I have a scanner to email chronicles. I think this may be a great idea, just want to see what others think.

I would definately be interested, I am pretty sure the free version of skype has acess to only one video feed.
If you are interested there is also a free program for wargaming called Vassal. A side note on Vassal, I am sure 90% of all the Wotc minatures have been scanned as well as old maps. There is some sort of feature that allows you to clip maps in, with this I am not familiar. There are also dungeon building kits, that allows you to drag and drop. There is also a built in Dice Roller, templates for just about every spell effect.

The Pathfinder's Online collective on Google Groups has an active community that utilized free versions of online Virtual table top (takes care of rolls and maps) and skype on regular basis.

I would love to play as well but im on iphone but i have skype:)
If interested people join the Patfhinder Society Online Collective google group you will find a wider pool of people to coordinate a game with for playing PFS via a voice chat program and VTT.

I recently enjoyed an online game using Skype and TTop RPG. It worked very well. While I'm not a huge fan of the format (I like to sit together with other players), it does allow you to play with people at great distance which is cool.
One interesting thing about this format is that it seems to cut down a lot on the non-gaming banter that seems to slow games down. It also cuts down on meta-gaming since only one person can really talk at a time and that is usually whoever's turn it is.
The downside is that players could be reading the mod while they play through it, or could be IM'ing each other during the game outside of the visible chat. As long as the players are honest, its a good format.
I am looking into starting some TTop/Skype gaming in the near future myself.
