How do you "spoil" text?

how do you put text into a spoiler tag, you know, where you hide a lot of text

Just beneath the reply composition box (i.e. where you typed your question) is something that says "BBCode tags you can use: [SHOW]".

If you click on that, it will reveal what you're looking for and more. :)

thank you

Sovereign Court

When you are writing a message there is a "spoiler box with the Title.."BBCode tags you can use:" check in there for it.

EDIT: Wicked ninja'd

Sure thing!

EDIT: Hehe, we elves are sneaky like that. ;)

as far as computers go they are just magic boxes to this barbarian, i don't understand the spoiler text, i looked in the BBCode tags but it doesn't make any sense to me

"["spoiler=Movie plot spoiler"]"This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit."["/spoiler"]"

Remove the quotation marks and it will become a spoiler text box.

So "["spoiler=This is a Spoiler Box"]" Your Stuff "["/spoiler"]"

Will create this:

This is a Spoiler Box:
Your Stuff

["spoiler=This is a Spoiler Box"]" like this "["/spoiler"]

You are not supposed to use the quotation marks when doing the actual code. They are in the example because if we don't use the quotation marks in the example the code will activate for lack of a better word. If you do that again without any quotation marks it will work.

so i need to remove all quotation marks, so none of theses " in it at all?

Correct.

This is a Spoiler Box:
like this

awesome, thank you everyone, this barbarian has learned something new

Liberty's Edge

Likewise, old dog has learned a new trick: I knew how to create the standard 'spoiler' but not how to get the caption to say something else.

Sovereign Court

Hooray!

Just wanted to add my thanks, as a newbie I was looking for how to do this myself and this was a wonderful help :)

Giving them expensive gifts for minor holidays. Buy them a big-screen TV and several gaming consoles before they're old enough to go to church. Never gainsay them anything.

That should be a good start.

Your first spoiler tag does not need the "/" .

Dark Archive

Pathfinder Rulebook Subscriber

{spoiler=Movie plot spoiler}This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit.{/spoiler}

Except instead of using {} as your brackets use [] and you'll get

Movie plot spoiler:
This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit.
