"Something's wrong. There's little critters in there, smashin the place up; gotta be goblins!"

He signals to the two on the roof, what he hopes is a reasonable impersonation of a goblin, and mouths "We're goin' in."

"Smash it down!"

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

With that Galstok brings his hammer off his shoulder, and as soon as Tregar clears the door charges forward bringing his hammer down where the two doors meet.

Attack(PA): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 + 3 = 18

Liberty's Edge

Things not to say to a Shoanti with an Earthbreaker:
"When I nod my head, hit it!"

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

He atleast waited tell you cleared the door. :)

The door shatters along its hinge, obviously not designed for that sort of punishment. With a groan, it collapses inward. Meanwhile, up on the roof, Kendrick and Drexel have successfully managed to climb up there and now look down though a glass skylight.

Kendrick & Drexel

Spoiler:
Looking down into the glassworks from the fooftop skylight you see a long room. A furnace burns along the southeast wall of this chamber. Marble tables sit throughout the chamber, with nearby wooden tables cluttered with tools. The building’s furnace rumbles loudly. The room is a gruesome display
of goblin boredom. The bodies of several people lie in various stages of dismemberment; and you can see goblins capering around down below.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

As soon as I see the goblins and then hear the doors blown off their hinges I unsling my bow kick in the skylight and start firing down at the goblins.

I believe I get another +1 to Attack for being on high ground or somthing but with a roll that bad it really doesnt matter.
Attack Shortbow 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6

Liberty's Edge

Aaand we're off!

Off to bed for me (01:00 in GMT). So I don't hold anything up, I'll roll Initiative now, and see you in 6 hours?

Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

If the area in front of us is filled with enemy, I'll stand back and shoot, to protect the others and/or clear a way through.
If it's a corridor, or a turn ahead, I'll get as far ahead as I can, until I can take a viable shot.
If it's a room less than 30' across, I'll move to the side of a door, and if possible, ready a shot vs any goblins entering.

For all I know, we're about to charge into a broom closet.

Male Human Bard 1

Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Male Human Wizard (Egorian Academy Infernal Binder) 1

Harlynn follows behind the big Shoanti and the rugged looking fellow. He stops for a brief moment and asks would any if you like some magical protections?

Initiative (if necessary): 1d20 ⇒ 16

Liberty's Edge

I don't think you've got any legal spells that would stack on me, except resistance, and I don't expect the goblins to force any saves...

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Ensu prepares his crossbow for another round of "Whack-a-Goblin."

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Looking back at Harlynn he shakes his head and says not to kindly, "No thank you, Chelaxian. I'll pass."

Looking back into building he prepares for what ever may be ahead.

Initiative:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

And my low initiative continues. :)

Beyond the shattered door is a 20' wide vestibule. To the left on the other side of the small room is another set of double doors while on the right side of the room, directly across from you, a corridor stretches away from you for another 40' before abruptly turning left. Lit oil lamps line the walls and an ornate tile pattern in black and white lines the floor. You can hear a rumbling noise coming from beyond the double doors along with high pitched shrieks and giggling.

Meanwhile, up on the roof, Drexel shatters the skylight and launches an arrow down into the room below, but in his haste it thuds into a ceiling beam just below the shattered window.

Ok, going off remaining initiative orders, what is everyone else doing now we know whats to see.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I never rolled initiative sooo

Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

ah, good it agrees with my action haha

Male Human Wizard (Egorian Academy Infernal Binder) 1

The moment trouble rears it's head Harlynn will cast shield from the scroll on tregar.

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Galstok will run to the double doors and throw them open if possible or knock them open if needed. Or if a goblin appears by the time is turn is up he will charge it instead if possible.

Attack(PA & charging): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 + 3 = 18

Liberty's Edge

Harlynn Quinn wrote:

Shield is a personal spell (see PFSRD). So it's only usable on you. It may be a good idea to cast it, just not on anyone else. It'll only last a minute, so depends on how many goblins there are.

Male Human Bard 1

"Oh, goblins are a nuisance,
That is best dealt with a blade,

And goblins are annoying,
At least until they're slain,

Oh, we love to kill them everyday,
And if you ask us why we'll say,

Because collecting goblin ears is an easy way to get paid!"

With apologies to the Oscar Meyer bologna song

Inspire courage

Liberty's Edge

If I'm right, the room in front of us is a backward 'L', with the double doors close by on the left crook of the 'L'.
If so...

Tregar hears the stirring lyrics, and vows that none of the vermin shall live.

(Delay slightly till Galstok either barges the doors, or breaks them down, then step forward and through, taking a shot at the nearest goblin present.
[EDIT] No delay required, he's got higher Dex than me!)

Attack longbow 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20
Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Next up is Ensu, and we appear to be missing Tok.
Then back up to the top.
Initiative order is as follows;
Drexel
Kendrick
Harlynn
Galstok
Tregar
Ensu
Tok?

Male Dwarf Monk/1

I'm here. Sorry.

Tok steps into the room, and as he does so, grabs two shurikens from his pouch. He takes aim at the nearest Goblin.

Flurry of Blows

Attack 1:
To Hit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Damage: 1d2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Attack 2:
To Hit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Damage: 1d2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Though, based on my dice rolls, my presence is irrelevant.

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

Ensu, seeing that battle is close, moves into a positions where he can see through the doors when they are opened, and takes a shot at the nearest target when one presents itself.

attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Seeing the others coming through the doors and firing at the goblins I take another shot at one of the capering fiends.

Attack shortbow 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23

Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 the +1 damage is because I am assuming I am less then 30 ft above the goblins and my point blank shot comes into play

Sorry I didn't post yesterday - Gremlins in my machine!. Tregar, thanks for doing an initiative order:)

The wooden doors burst open and a wave of heat washes over you. In the room beyond, you can now see that this is a large workshop of sorts, with furnaces lining the right hand wall. Along the left hand wall are several curtain covered large windows. In the room itself are marble tables and several smaller wooden tables covered in tools of various type. Looking at the furnaces you can see that the one in the far right end of the room appears to be glowing with a flickering blue flame. An iron door covers it with a small open hatch set into its surface. Just past this furnace is another exit from the room closed by double doors. Above the chamber, natural light is provided by three large glass windows although one of them is now smashed. You can make out two figure looking down into the room from one of the skylights although they are in sillhouette against the sun.

There are a dead bodies in here as well. These appear to have been the workers at the glassworks as they all seem to be wearing aprons. All seem to have died in extremely gruesome ways, mainly involving liquid glass and hot implements!

You see that there are eight goblins within the room, all gleefully dancing around, shouting and screaming at each other. They seem totally unaware that both the glass window above them as well as the doors to the room are now broken.

The goblins go on initiative of 5. This round you have suprise

As Galstock smashes the door down and charge into the room and Kendricks inspiring song rises above the roar of the furnace , Tregar neatly steps up and around the Shoanti warrior, raising his longbow and lets fly with an arrow that prompltly flies true, hitting a goblin stood on a marble table in the throat and carrying it off its perch. The arrow flight is so fast that the goblin ends up pinned against a wooden suport beam, its legs twitching like some demented puppet.

Ensu, following Tregar into the room fires a bolt from his crossbow. A goblin pops up from its grisly sport of teasing one of its dead victims, only to have half its head remove by the bolt.

Tok also steps up and quickly unleashes two thowing stars at the goblins although unluckily they both fly wide of the mark. (Several ornate glass sculptures do however feel the the full force of there fury!)

Suprise round is over. Apart from Drexel, who's attack for the next round I have, can I have actions and rolls for this round. Initiative order is :-

Drexel
Kendrick
Harlynn
Galstok
Tregar
Ensu
Goblins (6 of them left)
Tok

(Ezren, feel free to join in when you can?)

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Looking around for any signs that this might be a trap, Galstok moves into to close with the beasts.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Attack(PA):1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 19

With a snarl he brings his hammer down in a overhand blow down on top of one of the goblins.

You can thank my OCD-usually-GM Syndrome. :)

Liberty's Edge

Depending on what Kendrick and Harlynn do, of course...I'll try to shield Harlynn if he advances into the room.

Knowing he's better with the bow than his beatin' stick, Tregar continues to fire, moving along the left wall to allow the others into the room (and away from the glowing coals!).

If any of the goblins' victims are still twitching, speaking, or showing signs of life, he will attempt to take down their tormentor, otherwise, he looks for a leader among the group, such as the chanters he heard about from the previous raid.

Longbow 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 (further +1 if within 30', no penalty for shooting into melee.
Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 +1 if within 30'.

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will continue to inspire courage, while looking for a beam or something similar to attach his whip to. If he sees one he will attempt to attach his whip 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 and swing down into the building, knocking over a goblin if possible. CMB for bull rush? 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Just to not slow things down, I'll post my turn now, to be done when it's my turn.

Tok takes a small (5') step towards the nearest living goblin. He unleashes a flurry of unarmed blows towards the small creature's head.

Attack 1
To Hit: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

Attack 2
To Hit: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 + 1 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

Ensu will reload and fire at the closest one still moving not in melee.

attack1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Male Human Wizard (Egorian Academy Infernal Binder) 1

From the cover of the doorway Harlynn will cast Acid Splash at the closest goblin.

Ranged Touch Attack1d20 ⇒ 4

but the small orb of acid goes wide, Drat! he curses.

Cornielius will Aid Another 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 to boost Harlynn's AC by two for the round AC 12

Liberty's Edge

"Don't worry! I think we've got them all!"

"No, wait! There's another! They could be hiding behind the benches!"

From his position on the roof, Drexel reloads and then unleashes another arrow, neatly taking another goblin through the back, causing it to spasm before falling in a heap.

Next to him, Kendrick uncurls his whip and, whistling a rising tune to himself (du du du du- du du doo, du du du dee - du du doo doo doo), proceeds to catch its end onto a ceiling beam, before leaping down into the room below. He swings across the scene and promptly impacts a gibbering goblin that jumps onto a table, trying to catch the swinging bard. The impact sends the goblin flying and it tumbles, with a screech into the open door of a glowing furnace.

Harlynn finishes his casting but his glowing viscous globe of acid flies wide and splashes against a wall.

Striding into the chamber, Galstock has a scampering goblin run straight into him, its glowing pair of tongs waving madly in its hand. The thunderous blow of the hammer falling on its head promptly ends its misery.

Moving along the wall opposite the furnaces, Tregar looks for targets, and seeing no obvious leaders amongst the goblins, looses an arrow at a goblin that presents itself as a target, hitting it in the chest and sending it tumbling onto its back.

A bolt fired from Ensu's deadly crossbow finishes off the last but one of the creaturs.

The remaining goblin, seeing all of its colleagues picked off so cleanly, tries desperately to run to safety. Howeve all it finds is the release of a quick death as Tok unleashes a blinding and devestating series of punches and chops to its head with his bare hands. It's face, now even more ugly and deformed, hits the floor, a pool of blood seeping across the tiles around it.

195 xp for each character.

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

"Nice shot, Kendrick." Ensu comments as he looks around. "Well, we know for certain that somebody was up to something. Now we just have to figure out who, and what kind of shape the remaining humans are in."

Male Human Bard 1

"Thank you my friend," replies Kendrick. "Good shot yourself. I think that these poor fellows may be beyond help, but regardless I've come to find the lady Ameiko. LADY AMEIKO," Kendrick yells out. "ARE YOU HERE?"

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Galstok will approach the other set of doors holding his hammer at the ready. At the doors he will check to see if they are unlocked and if they are what side they are locked on.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I look for a way down into the room below relatively safe enough that I don't kill myself.

Male Dwarf Monk/1

Tok attempts to recover his thrown shurikens and quietly awaits direction from the rest of the group.

Perception Check:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Liberty's Edge

"It's rather slippery in here, and the floor's covered in broken glass. You really don't want to trip into the fireplace."

Tregar moves among the fallen workers, looking not-too-hopefully for signs of life.

"Does anyone know how many staff should be here?".
He grimly eyes the bubbling corpse of the goblin on the coals.

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

"Knowing goblins and whoever would be insane enough to use them against the town, I would have to go with probably more than what we see here." Ensu comments as he does a quick heal check on some of the more intact bodies to try to establish cause and time of death.

Heal check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Male Human Wizard (Egorian Academy Infernal Binder) 1

While everyone gathers items Harlynn will cast detect magic.

Liberty's Edge

"Can anyone speak Goblin? Maybe one can still tell us who their boss is?"

He looks among the downed goblins for any that may still be stabilised.

"As much as I hate the buggers, I'd like to know how they got in. They sure as hell didn't climb down the chimney."

Male Human Wizard (Egorian Academy Infernal Binder) 1

DM if you would allow a linguistics roll to understand goblin speak here is the roll
Cornelieus assist 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Harlynn Linguistics 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

I can try but I have never lowered myself to speaking such an unsophisticated language before.

"If you can find one still breathing, I suppose it's worth a try. Not that you're likely to get much. Goblins are usually the grunts who don't know and/or don't care about who is above them."

Liberty's Edge

"Come to think of it, do goblins even have a language? I've only ever heard them singing twisted human songs."

Knowledge (local) 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 3 = 17

If there is a goblin who has not yet succumbed to death's embrace, he will stabilize it.

To Ensu;

"Yeah, I'm not expecting much sense. Just whether they have 'mitey wizzad' or 'we haz oger palz'..."

male gnome cloistered cleric 3 [ HP: 19/23 | AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 14 | F: +5 R: +1 W: +6 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | Effects: ]

"Yes, they do have a proper language, mores the pity. I've fought more than a few in my time, and they can actually be terrifying buggers when they decide to organize."

Galstok wrote:

As far as you can tell, the doors are not locked.

Tok wrote:

Tok manages to recover his shurikens

Looking around the chamber you can see that eight workers lie in various stages of dismemberment; the goblins seem to have been burning legs and arms in the furnace with glee. In an alcove, sat on a chair, is an elderley man who has had molten glass poured over him and is now totaly encased in thick runny sheets of hardened glass. You can find no goblins still alive.

Liberty's Edge

Is he identifiable?
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
And any word on any still-living goblins?

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

See the doors unlocked, he opens them up and takes a look inside. "These doors aren't locked. Maybe from this way?"
