"We didn't have to deal with it, yet. It was clever to keep your little watchdog guarding the back entrance. But what you may not realise, is that it doesn't stay put."
"We cased the rock for a few days, to judge your numbers and routine. One thing I realised is that the seabirds avoided the cave. At first, I thought the goblins were leaving traps, but then we saw the creature leave, climb up the outside to the higher nests."
"Our monster experts identified it, and the fact it was blind, so we waited till it next went out, and timed our entrance then. It's been in and out a few times, but hasn't yet come back to this cave. But it will, eventually."
"Whether you're still here then, depends on you."

Wak!-waak!
"For someone who doesn't like goblins, you seem to know how to order them about. And some of those bodies are nearly fresh; can't have been drained more than a day or two."
"And you've been here far longer than that, since we've never seen you leave."
Dour Swordsman |
"I haven't been here long at all, and I certainly don't speak much Goblin. Just 'yes', 'no', 'come here', 'go away', and such. Just a few words I've been told. I haven't much need for anything else."
He has stopped struggling against his bonds, and is looking out the cave toward the voice. Hearing only silence, he continues.
"It's the others do all the talking to the goblins, they leave me out of their plans."

In Goblin
"The goblins we caught, said this guy was the bugbear's wife. Said he couldn't get enough cock."
The man turns to the sound of the new voice, tries to keep his cool, but his momentary fierce expression, and flushed cheeks are easily seen by both Tregar and Ensu.
Ensu, Student of Nethys |
"I dunno, I rather like the idea of him being bait. Sort of an 'early warning bell' for the rest of us."
<the sound of a seagull is heard from the mouth of the outer cave, its cry swelling and dimming as it moves nearer then farther. As it rises on approach once more, it is suddenly cut off.>
Valoria Grundmire |
"Gentleman gentleman...", pausing long enough for the swordsman to turn towards her soft commanding voice, "I have no time to waste on silly talk. I want results now, and I don't care how.", pauses for a longer period fluttering her fan, "Please begin disposing of a few fingers."

Galstok |
Not sure how urgently Galstok is acting. Are you planning on going at him straight away, or drawing out your 'preparations'?
Drawing it out, checking edge, bringing out the whetstone when I find a dull spot and so on. Trying to give Tregar time he needs, while having the presence of the threat to keep him off kilter. Galstok sees Tregar as calling the shots in the endeavor so trying to follow his lead.
Dour Swordsman |
Sorry for the delay; a combination of school holidays and micromanaging at work have kept me away.
"What's this half-elf's name? What does he look like?"
"And before you get clever, I mean more than just 'half human and half elf'. Give me details."
"He's tall, dark hair, ponytail. Got a light tan skin and wierd slanty eyes...err, more than normal for a half-elf, I mean."
He is straining to see in the gloom, possibly to tell if there are any elves or half-elves in the party.
Dour Swordsman |
"Whoah, I can't answer you all. One at a time."
"I work for the lady, Nualia. She hired me to escort her from Riddleport to here, which I did. I never realised the place would be full of goblins once we got here."
"I don't know where they attacked, or why. But Tusuto was angry at the goblins for failing to bring someone."
Dour Swordsman |
Nualia didn't go on the raid, wherever it was, so I stayed here. I don't know what the objective was, but the day after the others came back, some more goblins came out of the Nettlewood, dragging a cart. Everyone went out to watch them bring it in, which took forever, because the bridge is so rotten."
Dour Swordsman |
"There was a long crate, wrapped in a sheet. Well, they tried for ages to get it over the bridge, slipping and sliding everywhere. I got bored and went for something to eat. I came back, and they were still at it, only this time Nualia had come out, and she'd obviously taken charge, as they'd taken the cart down to the beach, and were trying to haul it up the side of the rock."
Ensu, Student of Nethys |
Still here; looking back to see if this was in-character info. Yes, it was...page 20.
"Indeed there was. Father Tobyn's grave was the one that was opened.
Goblin footprints all around. It was fire that took him, a fire which burned down the old church. They only just finished building the new one, which was the focus of the festival we came for."
Tregar Quill |
"Don't give me that! You can't tell us you've not been out of this room for weeks, that you've not heard anyone discuss their plans. Even if the leaders can keep a secret, the stupid goblins can't."
He steps into the edge of the light.
"What would I see if I were to look into your soul?"

Dour Swordsman |
"I swear, I don't know what was in the box, or what they wanted it for."
While not exactly ignoring Tregar, he does seem to spend more time glancing at Galstok, and the haughty woman who seems to have him on a leash.
"I did accompany my employer to two meetings, in the first few days. It...was not to my taste. Several new goblins had turned up, and the chief seemed to be testing their loyalty. Some stayed, and were let into the tribe. The rest were taken away, and thrown down a hole, into the sea."
Valoria Grundmire |
Valoria lets out a yawn and a sigh, "Dragging little bits of information out of him is really slow, and wasting my time.", putting stress on the last part.
"Give us the details of everything of what happens here, at this place. Not little bits. Else I just have to tell my friend to begin removing some parts."
Dour Swordsman |
"Wait, now, hold on. I know I've made a bad choice coming here, but I didn't know anything about this place when I signed up."
"You're sitting in a bar, with no job, and some gorgeous woman comes up and says she'll pay you to hang out with her? What am I supposed to do?"
"It was just supposed to be a bodyguard job; get her through the goblin forest. I never thought I'd be forced to live among them."
"I want out, but I don't think they'll let me leave. I'll tell you what you need, if it means I can go back home. I think I'm not the only one feels that way, either."
