Galstok steps up, and swings;

Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9

This hits him between the shoulders, and brings the beast to his knees.

"Ooouurgh, no. You can't beat me. Not like this."

Sephird is next; the large hairy goblin is bent double, holding the wall. Still conscious, he looks up and stares into your eyes, with resignation.

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 2

With a manic smile on his face, Sephird yells back, "Puppy licker!" while attacking again.

Rapier 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Shortsword 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

damage-r 1d6 ⇒ 1
damage-r sa 1d6 ⇒ 2
damage-sw 1d6 ⇒ 1
damage-r sa 1d6 ⇒ 5

Shadow Lodge

That's a hit with the off-hand - just; if flank bonus is included.

He attempts to clumsily lean away, but you cut him across the ear, and he falls prone, clutching his head.

Shadow Lodge

The rearmost goblin moves up to keep pace with Galstok, and all three attack again, though this time, without the benefit of flanks.

Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

The ones to the side seem to have found their nerve.

Damage 1d4 ⇒ 1
Damage 1d4 ⇒ 3

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Thanks for covering for me while I was gone.

Those little ones are getting persistent. :)

Shadow Lodge

Apologies for an earlier error; I didn't realise Sephird's flank bonus had already been included, due to the TWF penalty.

You slash part of his ear, but realise he ducked aside just in time to avoid actual injury.

Shadow Lodge

The door opens, and a human in incomplete half-plate runs through, carrying a bastard sword and shield, heading for the stairs, drawing AoO from Sephird and Ensu, if they wish. (Tregar and Valoria last had missile weapons drawn, so don't threaten his path.)

Ensu attack 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9

Current initiative situation for this round is;

Furry No-pants (acted),
Valoria (acted),
Galstok (acted),
Sephird (acted),
Goblins (acted),
Armoured Swordsman (acting),
Kavrik (KO),
Ensu,
Tregar.

I need to know if Sephird is taking that AoO, before I complete his action.

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 2

Not unless it appears that he is attacking, if just running, Sephird will let him by. (Sword raised to attack or lowered in flight)

AoO-rapier 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
damage 1d6 ⇒ 4

Shadow Lodge

He makes it to the stairs, and gets partway up, out of sight to all.

Shadow Lodge

Ensu curses and shouts to the others, "I can't catch him; someone else give chase.", and steps up to stab at the goblinoid, and htreaten him if he attempts to take the same route.

Attack 1d20 ⇒ 4

Liberty's Edge

"Got it."

Tregar's eyes again glow amber, as he sets off up the stairs with his bow in one hand, his spiked club in the other.
He rounds the corner, and you hear a shout as combat is joined.

swift judgment: justice

Attack roll 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

The goblinoid snarls, takes a 5' step to the western edge of the room, by Sephird's side, and goes one of the trophies on his shoulder.
It is a shrunken gourd of some kind, and you realise, as he breaks the top with his gnarled claw, that he intends to take a drink from it.

Sephird:
You have two opportunities to make an AoO; one when he draws the item, or one when he attempts to drink it.

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 2

AoO-Rapier 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10+2 if flanked

Distracted from the human, Sephird unfortunately misses an opportunity to shish-kabob the goblin.

He holds the gourd between his teeth, and throws his head back, blocking your blow with the handle of his flail.

He then spits the wrinkled remains into the corner, and gives a momentary shudder, before grinning at you, with a leer that goes from ear to ear. His earlier fatigue seems to have worn off, and he appears partially rejuvenated.

Valoria next.

Valoria takes aim at the grinning goblin and fires her crossbow hoping for a true strike.

Rolls:
Crossbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

This is really bad. Hope the others can bring down this goblin.

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it! And to everyone else may you have a wonderful 25th of December.

Galstok steps forward following the creature out of the room. Fatigue and injuries warring with his eagerness for battle, Galstok brings his hammer swinging in from the side.

Round 2/4 of Fatigue
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage:2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12

Shadow Lodge

The goblins take advantage of the distraction, to throw some parting shots;

Attack of Opportunity 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Attack of Opportunity 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Attack of Opportunity 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

but, even fatigued, you manage to show them up.

Your blow hits the larger goblinoid, putting him back in his earlier state, staggering and leaning against the wall.

Sephird next

Shadow Lodge

And Happy Christmas to all.

It's 10:50 am in Snorter HQ, and I've managed to get all the present opening out of the way. Managed to sneak a minute on the PC, in between Bob the Builder and Spongebob games, then I've to get ready to visit the in-laws for lunch. I expect everyone else has similar full diary, so today may be a slow posting day, so if we don't hear from you till Monday, don't sweat it.

And don't get discouraged by this encounter; I admit, I did add a level to him, while converting, to allow for there being six of you, otherwise he would have gone down like a chump. He's taking some killing, but he's not really dishing it out (with the exception of Kavrik in round one, obviously). If it's any consolation, this guy is one of the toughest in the place, and by catching him as written, in flagrante, he's much easier to take down, as he can't benefit from his stealth or most of his feats. If you'd kicked up a ruckus somewhere else, then you'd have him chasing you back to town, like Predator.

Looks like we lost Sephird for a while. Wow! This is some tough nasty we fighting. I hope the fleeing guy is actually fleeing completely and not calling reinforcements. Could we get new map.

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard 2

is there a map anywhere, I seem to have lost place of where anyone is

Shadow Lodge

I'll get on it. I've just reclaimed the PC for the night...

Shadow Lodge

Sorry about the delay; seems I was over-optimistic about the amount of free time I'd have during the holidays.
Here's to going back to work, and being able to get stuff done!

Shadow Lodge

NEW MAP

Sephird is next.

Where is Mr T?

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 2

Sephird will take a step to stand north of the big goblin and swing at him again.

rapier 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
shortsword 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
damage 1d6 ⇒ 4

Shadow Lodge

He blocks the first blow with the handle of his weapon, but the second catches him, and he drops.

In answer to DarkOne; Tregar took off up the stairs, after the fleeing swordsman.

Shadow Lodge

Galstok; you are aware of a chittering and sniggering behind you, and a goblin attempts to castrate you with a broken bottle.

Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

She drives it up and under your groin, but luckily, you were wearing your studded leather skirt, which takes the cut.

You whirl round to face the snarling culprit, and see Kavrik's feet disappearing from sight.

Shadow Lodge

The swordsman is acting offscreen, so I'll reveal his actions when someone goes to look.

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Aww that few HP left?
Seeing the beasts drag the Chelaxian further into the room, Galstok hesitates until hearing the big creature drop behind him. Moving back into the room he readies his hammer, thinking to himself What am I doing saving a Chelaxian's arse?! Assuming he's even still alive

Entering the room he will swing on either one threatening Kavrik directly or nearest one he can reach.

Round 3/4 of fatigue
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage:2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9

I guess I really don't have that much more. Hope they don't hit me. :)

Shadow Lodge

Galstok; if you're responding to my earlier post, I went back and edited it, as I realised the goblin didn't hit you. Fatigue is only -2 Dex, not -2 AC. I calculate you're still on 7 hp. And you've jumped ahead a bit.

Shadow Lodge

Ensu steps back to the far wall, guarding Galstok's current space in front of the door, and stabbing the fallen goblinoid.

"I'll not catch them; someone else go upstairs. I'll hold off these runts, if they break out."

1d20 ⇒ 13
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

The body on the floor writhes involuntarily, as the spear point sticks in his leg.

I am slightly lost in the action order of the combatants.

Shadow Lodge

NEW MAP is up, for the start of the fifth round.

Tregar's actions are taking place elsewhere, then it's back to the top.

The large goblinoid makes a secret stabilisation roll, then it's Valoria.

Furry No-pants (acted),
Valoria,
Galstok,
Sephird,
Goblins,
Armoured Swordsman,
Kavrik (KO),
Ensu,
Tregar.

Shadow Lodge

FYI; one of the reasons for me being busy this last week has now been uploaded HERE. Now with typos corrected!

Male Shoanti Human Barbarian 2

Your right I did sorry about that guess just disregard post then. I think I may have carried over some damage from earlier.

You one of the contributors to the product?

Valoria speaks out, "I will go to Tregar. Someone chop that goblin's head off to make sure it is properly dead."

She heads up the stair to Tregar.

She will stay out of reach from any foes.

Shadow Lodge

Valoria Grundmire wrote:

'The Cursed Hoard' and one of the Bestiary entries, the 'Outiko'.

Valoria Grundmire wrote:

No problem. I take it you have one spell left, via Arcane Bond, but it can be anything in your book, right?

Yes, she has a crossbow and 1 final spell via Arcane Bond, which can be any within spellbook.

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 2

Hearing Valoria's request, Sephird will poke the goblin at his feet.

3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14 2d6 crit + 1d6 SA

Sephird will next move to help finish off the goblins in the room. next turn

Shadow Lodge

Valoria:
The stairs go up and bend to the left. The sound of metal on stone is clear, as are the grunts and curses of the two combatants.
As you clear the corner, you can see Tregar's back, and beyond, in the door frame, is the swordsman. Neither seems to have gained the upper hand, both fighting cautiously.
MAP HERE.
A single move of 30' will take you all the way up to the square immediately behind Tregar.

Shadow Lodge

Sephird, the large goblinoid is now most definitely dead.

...but not by much!...

Shadow Lodge

When Valoria has declared her action, Galstok and Sephird have been, so it'll be the goblins' turn.

Valoria runs up the steps and stops as she rounds the corner seeing Tregar in battle with the swordsman. Realizing the difficult situation at hand, she decides to cast her final spell as magic missile at the swordsman.

Magic missile damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Liberty's Edge

The missile flies past Tregar's ear, into the swordsman, making him wince.

You can tell that Tregar appears to be focussed on parrying or dodging the swings from the swordsman, which appear to be made with considerable force, given the chips that fly from the doorframe.

"Give it up! We got five more coming, right behind me. We're here for the goblins. And for the Tian half-elf."

Shadow Lodge

The goblins round the corner are engaged in some kind of frantic clattering and bashing noise.

Shadow Lodge

The goblin in front of Galstok attempts to slice him again;

Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Confirm 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage 1d4 ⇒ 2

This evil little b!@&! is more dangerous than her boss, it seems...

Shadow Lodge

Valoria:
The swordsman thrusts forward, forcing Tregar to flatten himself to the wall.
He's using the bastard sword one-handed, and appears to have no difficulty keeping his balance, while keeping his shield up over his vitals.
He then steps back out of sight to his left.
That map has more info than you are currently aware of, but it doesn't matter for now.
I ran a few rounds of their combat in advance, using d20 Dice Bag.

Shadow Lodge

Ensu steps up behind Galstok, unrolling a scroll.

"This is getting desperate. We need to push in their, and damn the danger."

Cure Light 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Liberty's Edge

Tregar follows out the door, turning right, out of sight, and continues the fight.

Defensive Attack 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6

"Get the others up here, we can surround him."
