Carrion Crown and Eberron

Carrion Crown

I do plan to get the new Campaign guide, but so far I have been able to fit everything into Eberron(as far as AP's go). If for some reason I happen to run things in Eberron again what is a good place for this adventure. Right now I am thinking of Karnath, but it does not seem as subjugated as the intended area for CC. The Demon Waste seems to be the only place that might be this bad or some budding city in Xendrik.

Set it in Karrnath during the Last War. When everything looked like it was all about to go to hell and Kaius the Second (or whichever Kaius was the bad one) is in charge.

Set it in Karrnath, and have the Whispering Way be a cult connected to the Lords of Dust, and cast Tar-Baphon as one of the khyber-bound fiends from the Age of Monsters. That should just about get ya. I too have been considering the same thing.

If you're using Karrnath mid-Last War, then shouldn't we be using the Blood of Vol as the Whispering Way? Maybe rewrite Eberron a bit to have Vol in a torpid state beneath Atur or something. If you use the Lords of Dust as the Whispering Way, then you have 2 different cults that worship undeath. Gets a bit crowded...

spoiler:
Also, Platinum Eye conspiratory dudes could totally be agents of the Chamber.

If you use the Whispering Way as connected to Vol, you'd have to rework Vol a bit. Plus, the Blood of Vol already has the Emerald Claw. There are numerous bound overlords that represent any number of BBEG types that one could possibly want to use, and they all have cults dedicated to them. In fact, I believe there already is one connected to the undead... I'll have to double check that. You could have it's influence spreading be the reason the Blood of Vol prefers to work in and around Karrnath. But I guess it boils down to a matter of preference for which villainous organization you'd rather use.

I came to the CC area to post the same question. I'm happy to see that most APs seem transferable into Eberron.

I would vote for Karrnath, with strong interference from Thrane.

As for the Blood of Vol, I never quite liked how they were so "polarized". When I run a game, the cult has had a very positive impact on the country and freed most from the tyranny of religion, focussing on the power within, as symbolized by the blood. The Blood of Vol from ECS is more a faction that doesn't have complete control of the faith; some extremist group.

So there would be room for the extremists to tie with the Whispering Way. It could even be the name of the faction.

Hi! I'm working on converting this AP to Eberron, and I had a question: What did you do regarding Pharasma? The Eberron deity of Death, The Keeper, is quite different from Pharasma in several ways, most notably its Evil alignment.
