Liberty's Edge

Title says it all.

Deslin on Shadefallen here. Elf Guardian.

The game's been a lot of fun to explore and is visually quite pretty. The PVP has been great as has the questing and dungeons thus far.

Probably picking this up today but going to the Perspice server. A friend of mine is there now via their headstart program. We both grew tired of wow.
edit*** We are also going with the defiant faction.
:)

How are the instances btw?

Liberty's Edge

Are all servers PVP enabled? Never been much of a PVPer. At this point I don't have plans on playings Rifts but that is mainly because we are currently playing EQ2, CoX and LoTRO.

There are PvE servers like the one I am on.

Having fun so far as a level 9 Cleric (Purifier/Warden/Sentinel).

Liberty's Edge

Instances have been a lot of f un so far. Up to lvl 36 so done up to King's Breech.

Grouped with someone with an awesome name last night too.

... Desna!

I asked if they by any chance happened to play Pathfinder and sure enough, they are a big pathfinder nut too. Small world ...

Lol, that's my name too.
I also used Desna in wow for my 85 belf priest

Any honest reviews of the game? Innovative and genre-advancing (as they claim) or just another button masher?

I was interested in Rift until I saw the silly testimonial video they put out a couple months ago... couldn't take it seriously after that. I still laugh about it! :)

It plays very much like WoW, with the graphics giving it a different feel. The random Rift invasions give things a bit of a twist, and the character building options are exceptional, with each of the four archetypes having the possibility of fulfilling a few roles in dozens of possible manners. If you enjoy MMOs it's worth a look, but if you're waiting on the next big genre-changing, super-innovative impact game to shake up the market, don't waste your time.

Dark Archive

I'm playing on Faeblight. Our laptop isn't geared for gaming and so it's a rude awakening after enjoying XBox 360 games in HD for the past couple years. The death rifts I came across tonight while starting my Defiant character (Kielrik, a rogue) really made things crawl along. We'll see if I'm able to continue playing!
