Question for you Cap'n
suppose you wanted to hide a body by burying it and pouring a concrete patio over the grave. How thick would the concrete need to be so that it didn't crack and break as the body decomposed (assume a northern state like Wisconsin)?
Asking for a friend
Concrete ALWAYS cracks, that's why they make those lines in it.

I finally met Tala's brother after two years with her. He needed a place to stay moving into town until their dad gets his new place and he moves in with her. We get along. Mostly.
The problem I didn't realize when texting, emailing, and Facebooking him is he's one of those people who talks to you, and when you reply doesn't listen, interrupts, and continues talking.
He's been here for 3 days and I gave up all pretext of trying. This morning I put headphones on and ignored him the last time he did it. Next time I'm gonna blow up in his face. That shit is rude AF.

OH and the dick move comment about Nintendo stuff from a couple pages back (just catching up) - Orthos, you're right. My language tends to gravitate towards hyperbole, but I apologize for the all or nothingness it implied.
Thank goodness its Wednesday,... HUMP DAY!!!
EVERY day is hump day when you're a sex worker.

And that's why you use lime.
Or, if you're going through the trouble of pouring concrete, just use a pig farm. They will eat hair and bones if they get hungry enough.

every time you mention your brothers, you sound more and more like a fairy tale character.
With that adorable gif WORAN sent earlier, I keep thinking of you as The Little Skid Loader That Could.

So Raising Dion is pretty good.
It isn’t perfect, and Dion gets a bit less believable as time goes on - I attribute this less to the actor (who is both a little kid and also seemed solid) and more to direction and story beats - but he remains enjoyable over-all, regardless.
The worst part was, I think, the villain himself. I can’t tell if the bad guy (upon reveal) felt reasonable or more like a parody of their non-villain self. It just didn’t quite fit in with previous characterizations and I don’t feel like it worked quite like they were going for. It wasn’t bad on a conceptual level and some parts of the execution were excellent and skillful, but other elements kind of fell a little flat or felt out of character.
I also don’t like what they did with the ending. Feels a bit forced. If I’m honest, the combination moral and villainous reveal were a little bit too much, even if it feels exactly like comic book style writing (which was prob a sly the goal). Did not like the end stinger - not at all. But that’s because it hit personal buttons. It’s not actually bad and was set up well.
It also makes me think that our villain isn’t what we are being led to believe. Aaaaaaaaalso that an unreasonable goal has been set.
But! The story was good enough that I’m invested and want to see Season 2. I do not regret watching and enjoyed it enough that it comes recommended.

I have made a horrible mistake.
We're doing rhetoric in my junior classes, so I decided to attack it from an advertising angle. So their assignment today was to pick two ads from the six I provided and fill out a form to analyze them (target audience, emotional tone, rhetorical strategies and propaganda techniques used, etc.).
Unfortunately, one of the ones I picked was the M&Ms Danny Devito ad. I forgot Danny Devito is now a meme, so all the boys naturally had to do that one.
Ten near-simultaneous versions of Danny Devito resonating through the room. And then repeating because they wanted to watch it again.
I maaaaay have gone a little bit crazy.
And I have two sections left to have it repeat.

Porygon, hands down. Misdreavus or Mimikyu would be my second choice, followed by Mawile, Kingdra, Espeon and Umbreon (ah heck, any of the Eeveelutions), Fennekin, Breloom, and Archen/Archeops or Aerodactyl.

Not quite AS bad. He is kind hearted. He's just incredibly self absorbed.

Honestly, I would probably be happy with (almost) ANY of the 'dragon' types.
I like dragons. And wizards.
Don't Judge Me!!!!!

EDIT- The Eveelutions are adorable. Would totally take any of them!

I'm not agreeing, I'm naming the pokemon. A shapeshifter would certainly have a lot of advantages.

Given the primary use of Dittos in the games, I have Concerns.

So, here's another example of why I think I'm just "different":
As I mentioned, having my heater replaced by a professional was 3.5x the cost of doing it myself, so basically $1500. The guy showed up, spent all of 90 minutes working, and left.
In short, if you count nothing but parts and labor he was charging me $1000/hour to install a furnace.
Yet I'm fairly happy with the deal.
Why? Because he was an old grognard who's been doing this exact work for 20 years now. It took him only 90 minutes because he's been doing it for so long that there's NOTHING that fazes him; he can take any "problem" heater and just deal with it without a thought. His company is insured and licensed, so if anything ever goes wrong with the furnace it's THEIR a$$$s on the line, so they make sure he has everything he needs to do the job right.
I'm *sure* that most of the cost was their insurance. Working with gas in earthquake country isn't fun for anyone.
So yeah, stupid steep for a stupid wall furnace, but I'm betting the furnace lasts for as long as I own the house.
We'll see...

This is legitimately fantastic music, though.
It's an amazing piano cover of an amazing 8-bit tune and it really is lovely.
(It's a cover of the Moon Theme from Ducktales, for the curious.)

I love my new credit union.
I opened the account a month ago. They mailed me a debit card, but it never arrived. (I've ranted about the postal carriers in Mesquite before on this thread.)
So today I left work 15 minutes early, went over to my local branch, and THEY CUT ME A BRAND NEW DEBIT CARD IN FIVE MINUTES WHILE I WAITED.
And they were nice about it.

I asked James Jacobs a question about Norgorber. And he answered clearly and succinctly, as always.
BUT.
He doesn't like non-question posts in that thread (so that he can find and answer the questions quickly).
So.
*ahem*
"Norgorber?! I hardly know her!"
Bye y'all.
