Erm, I think that's it. Everything else is fair game, especially any discussion about FreeholdDM's love of everything Joss Whedon.
Also, welcome Trinam!

Sebastian keeps taking all the hookers and blow, and leaving Skittles on the cake. Trust me, you don't want the cake after Sebastian has Skittled it.

So, it seems I managed to piss off some friends by opting out of their gamenight. :-/
I sent a nicely worded email to the group. And the GM was personally offended that I didn't call him first.
I mean, I guess I can kinda see his point, but 1) we never talk on the phone about... well anything really and 2) It's not like I had issues with anybody that had to be worked out, I just couldn't handle/afford the long drive anymore.

Well that sucks.

I don't get why he'd be upset, since it has nothing to do with the group. It's not like the venue was going to change. Hopefully, he'll get over it.

I hope so to, but I got a nasty email in response to the email that I sent... In which I was told it was chicken s#~+ to send an email instead of calling. 0.o
That bridge is burning and while I'll be glad to put it out, I'm not going to be the first one to pour a bucket of water.

I've been there before...it's never fun. It's not really something you just "get over", I do think a phone call would have been the better way to go. Still, I'm not blaming you or anything man. My weekly Thursday night game met the exact same fate because the commute was killer for all involved but one person. Gaming has never been the same since. Still, some great things came up out of the ashes, including my monthly Kingmaker game and my monthly Darklight Sisterhood game.

What do you guys think?
My kids are old enough that they won't be bothering me. They're at that lovely stage of pretending their parents don't exist. :)
Apart from the fact that you already have an apartment, where would you rather work?
I'd rather work for my current employer. The answer seems pretty self-evident, then. :)
Wait, these guys let you stew in unhappiness all this time, then they suddenly come up with a work from home counteroffer when you find a job back home? That's kinda crap. Are they set up for a work from home program? If not, are they going to have to cancel yours once the 'howcome he gets to do it' whining starts? If so, why couldn't get get in on it before you were miserable enough to quit?
Taking counteroffers is also rather risky for your career. How often is 'sometimes'? Are they gonna jerk you around once you turn down the people you just accepted, knowing that bridge is seriously burned?
I dunno, dude... lots of squickiness there, looking in from the outside. You might feel comfortable knowing the people, though. Maybe it's all cool. Sense Motive!

Morbid curiosity. From the outside this seemed like a highly-exclusive awesome people's club.
Turns out I was close. It is an awesome people's club, but it ain't highly-exclusive if I can post here.
A few people have said that. I guess it is a little exclusive. I mean you have to be able to log onto the Paizo boards, so I guess the pygmies are excluded. ;)

That's fine. Those pygmies are jerks anyways. And like, 80% of them are cannibalistic.
Jerks.

And there's also FAWTL Gang. We beat up other posters, and go through their avatar's pockets for loose homebrew rules.
In a very passive/aggressive way, of course.

Yeah it is... but not by much.

Thanks for your insight, Treppa. I was hoping you'd weigh in on this, and I appreciate you doing so. Most of what you've pointed out crossed my mind, so it's good to see some affirmation of the thought process.
I will say that the stewing was in large part due to my lack of communication about my happiness. People may have suspected, but I never said anything about looking for a job back home. I guess that's conditioning from my previous experiences at Gilbarco where speaking up about anything was met less than enthusiastically.
I did bring up the whining, but not in that particular way. They've been pretty good about letting people work from home, on a one or two-day basis, but I also found out that they've got an employee who works from home full time (not from the Atlanta office, but one of the other offices), so they think it will work for me.
I will be coming to Atlanta once a month for two days at a time, on the company's dime.
Not that I have many, or any, ranks in Sense Motive, but I think this is a genuine offer.

From your first hookers and blow
To your last dyin' day.

You got FaWTLers around,
You're a Paizo man!
You're never alone,
You're never disconnected!
You're home with your own:
When company's expected,

Which you'll never forget
Till they cart you away.
When you're a Skit,
You stay a Skit!
