Ticks are a##&*~&s that need to be purged from the earth.
we used a light cigarette back in scouts. Crédit cards only work for bee stings to my knowledge.
What do people do nowadays?
We Keep one of those lighters with the long handle handy, those seem to work best. Really, you can't go wrong with fire.

Ticks were an issue during my four years in North Carolina, so much so that we would wear dog collars on our boots. And then there were chiggers egads these little bastards were a nightmare
* shudder *
... I hate them so daggum much.

captain yesterday wrote:F@&+ the ticks, what class should I make Tibbedo! Please note, unlike Tammy he's Chaotic Good. Other then that, I'm open to anything.
An hour to go, fortress of solitude is well stocked. And ready for the heaviest bombardment of giggling and screaming. Or whatever it is twelve year old girls do.
Vigilante or Bard.
(I don't know what Tibbedo is like, but I like those two classes.)
I don't have Ultimate Intrigue. Probably someday. But it doesn't really interest me all that much. I'll look into fun bard archetypes tho. Maybe Occultist.
Before he was kind of like a combination of Indiana Jones and Bilbo Baggins, but now I'm thinking using Dipper in the mix. :-)

Oh, in that case, Inquisitor or Bard, for sure.
Vigilante is available here, though.
For the Investigator, I'd say Empiricist, Relentless Inspector, or Sleuth, or Steel Hound, just based on-theme, but Dread Investigator could be used for a "creepier" vibe, or psychic detective for a bit of a magical (or occult) flare.
Spritualist is a little less on-theme, but looks kind of nifty (though I'm not a cruncher myself, so I can't tell you about optimization).
For Bard, Archeologist, Archivist, and Detective are all really solid bard archetypes.
A Dirge Bard would be kind of "opposite (ish)" of the first episode of season two (sort of, kind of, ish), so that's a fun connection.
Both Arcane Duelist and Arbiter and Sandman are much more weakly on-theme, but still could be useful and/or thematically cool.
I'm still learning about the occultist.
Anyway, hope that helps!

Ugh. So, I'm doing my annual review of our anti-corruption policies at work.
It used to be fairly bland, fairly vanilla, "Don't do this."
Until someone got the BRILLIANT idea to add 1970's-style cartoon animation on top of it all. Think Archer.
I keep expecting He-Man to pop out behind the spokeswoman and yell out, "By the power of Greyskull, I will stomp out corruption in our company!"
It's bad. REALLY bad.
EDIT: I'm so obsessed with the animation (or lack thereof) I'm wondering whether I'm watching a PBS Kids' special or corporate training...

I had to do some anti-corruption training recently.
It consisted of clicking through a powerpoint presentation online.
"Hurrah! You're trained! And incorruptible!"
Sadly, Man At Arms did not pop up at the end to deliver more character-building advice to me :(

Where do I have to work to get a sexual harassment video featuring The Sorceress, or Teela. Or both.

At least all her friends are nerds... Or geeks, or whatever.
The point is, they're all very nice and down to earth. :-)
NEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRDS!
My people!
Quick! Try to hook them on RPGs while you still can!
"C'mon, it's just one d20 roll! It's harmless!"

They replaced the card. Apparently they don't open up the machines anymore. The AtM is still in use which pisses me off even more. But apparently this is a "defense" mechanism if the machine detects that there is something wrong with the card. I'm confident there was nothing wrong with the card, as it was new.
So now I have a temporary card which does me no good as I cannot transfer my electronic accounts/automated payments to it because I will be getting a new card in the mail in three to five days. So everything in the world is probably going to bounce. They said they would keep the old card on file open just in case to avoid this, but I am not expecting a smooth transition. Now I get to spend next Wednesday going through all of the things I have linked to my card and updating the information, which I'd not something I wanted to spend next Wednesday doing.

I would feel a lot better about banking security in general if anything they ever did actually contributed to my sense of security.
The *only* one I really appreciate is Chase, because the moment anything happens, they call us. Same card used in two locations at once? Cards locked! Phone call! Card suddenly being used in some podunk location? Card locked! Phone call!
It's amazingly rare that they have to do it, but that phone call saves us many hours of grief. So we keep doing business with them...
EDIT: And the sad thing is, Trion Games (publisher of Rift) makes me feel a LOT more secure in terms of unauthorized logins. They track my computer information on their servers, and if I access my account from a new computer I cannot spend any money until I've confirmed my identity. Yes, I trust banks to secure the information they DO store more securely than any gaming company, as that is their bread-and-butter, but in terms of verifying access or dealing with attempts at unauthorized access, gaming companies seem far more "with it" than banks...

I would. We haven't had any issues since we switched. Like night and day.

I just happened upon the Ruby Rod/Korben Dallas introduction scene from Fifth Element, and I can't help but think that would be what happened if I met Orthos.
The scene for anyone not familiar.
And yes, one hundred percent spot on.

adds chloroform to the list of things to get on the way to New York. Begins plotting route that goes past Orthos's and Scint's places. Adds stuffed Sherlock Hemlock and stuffed Harry Potter as a whipsmart and witty investigative duo (ala Kay and Peele) on retainer, to find out where they live.
Road Trip!!!
