Studying for my investment licenses is mind-numbing.
Did you know that US Treasury bonds have values expressed in 32nds? Thus a price of 98.24 is not 98.24% of the bond value, but 98 24/32 % of the bond value (or 98.75% to those of us used to normal non-governmental math). Who but the US government could come up with this stuff?

I just wrote an application to another company.
After 20 years my company pissed me of so much that I did it, never thought that day would come, I am there since I am 16, I feel kind of dirty :-(
but it is a good opportunity :-)
I hope it works out for you! It's hard to make a big change like that.

+1. Sometimes good things come out of bad situations

I got a phone message yesterday from Valvoline saying that they wanted to set up an over-the-phone job interview, and would call back today at 1:00. At 3:00, they still hadn't called, so I called them. They said, "sure, no problem, we'll call in half an hour or so for the interview." It is now 5:00, and they haven't called. What the hell?

Holy. S~~~.
One of my players in my Kingmaker game is an editor with a magazine called Fast Company. He recently did an interview with a man by the name of Erik Mona, who is of some fame on this site. He got him to record an MP3 of him saying "ALL HAIL THE SOVEREIGN NATION OF VERLANDIA," Verlandia being the name of the PC's kingdom.
My mind is still blown.

Are you getting any benefits out of those 20 years, aeglos? Taking your 401k with you at least?
FYI - That is a reference to Section 401(k) of the US Internal Revenue code, which would not apply in Germany. I believe that Germany is one of the few European countries with a similar sort of personal retirement account system (most others have nationalized pensions), but I have no idea how it works.

Thanks for the correction, CH. Good stuff. Sounds a lot better than some of the things here in the States. Like military '20 years or nothing' retirements.

My eldest's first day of school today. He was as excited as a tree full of monkeys on N2O.
Cool, hope it goes well. It was my son’s first day on Tuesday, he seems to be enjoying it so far ... and is already following the grand tradition of school children everywhere by passing on important messages 10 minutes before he needs to leave for school.
Me, this morning: “Have a good day atschool Isaac; what do you think you’ll be doing today?”
Isaac: “We’re going to do painting ... we need to bring a painting shirt.”
Me: “What? They didn’t tell us that ... when did they tell you?”
Isaac: “Yesterday ... or maybe the day before, I can’t remember.”

When are we going to get our special "FAWLT" banner tags?
Actually, the pmg already sent me a private message about that, which I've copied and pasted below.
"I'll give out FAWTL banner tags as soon as I recieve over 10k private messages from people requesting them."
Everyone get busy! We've got an inbox to fill.
