Not sure how much time I'll have to post tomorrow, since it'll be a travel day.

Have a good one FAWTLy Folk.

Happy birthday, Freehold!

By the way, I heard they were going to offer Hung's directorial duties to Joss Whedon. It's better this way.

Say, did you hear about those paper minis for Crimson Throne...

;-)

Why yes I did.

Hurry up and put out the set for Book 6! I expect we'll have got back to somewhere in the vicinity of the actual AP plot by then and might have some use for them (we are in 'Book 5' at the moment, but no-where near the Cinderlands or Scarwall).

Technically there are some minis in the first three sets that can be used for the last sets. Stuff like the Gray Maidens and Red Mantis. And some of the other monsters like boggards, dragons and devils can be found in the RotR sets. :-)

So would you be promoted to Sergeant? Or Corporal? Or SPC/E5?

Next is Sergeant. If they still had Spec-5 and 6 I'd have been promoted long ago. :) Didn't want the responsibility back then.

You turned down power? I am very disappointed in you.

Shadow Lodge

I turned down culpability. Subtle difference.

A true leader knows how to deflect blame onto her lessers.

Just out of more curiosity as we do things slightly differently in the antipodes, are you army or marine corps (acording to wiki both the marines and army follow a similar structure rank wise for NCOs)?

I am guessing that you would be the equivilant of a full corporal with a section (squad) under your command.?

Any way thanks for your service and merry christmas.

Shadow Lodge

US Army Specialists are not given that much responsibility outside of infantry and other line units. Specialist is a Corporal without the leadership responsibilities.

Heh heh...."ideally...." ;)

Shadow Lodge

My first unit lumped privates and specialists into one homogenous group. I was never given a soldier to be responsible for, and even the sergeants seemed more like glorified specialists. That was the big reason I never wanted the promotion. It was added responsibility without any prestige or incentive. Even my current unit has done little to groom its senior specialists for the next level beyond unit boards and the like.

Did you ever feel angry at somebody because they can sleep just fine when you're in a lot of pain and can't? Boy, is that unfair or what?

Thanks for the SAAB-sympathies, folks (so glad I never sent in that work-application 8 years ago).

And sympathies in return for anyone suffering computer-problems, education-related difficulties, annoying sleeping people, or something equally bad.

Howdy fellow FAWTLy Folk. Hope everyone has a good day. I'm currently in a calm before the storm of holiday travel.

Meh, maybe I'll get lucky at the airport.

2335 new!?!?!

I guess I've been busy lately.

My wife and I got ourselves a Christmas present.

We signed the papers to close on the new townhouse.
Final inspection was the day before and we started moving boxes yesterday afternoon.

I should be in by tomorrow night.

I'll be living 2 miles from Yorktown Battlefield, in a developement backing up on the Colonial Parkway.

Most importantly- Deb gets a new kitchen with a gas stove and I get a seperate room to be a library!!

Now I just have to move all the books.

Last day of work before the Christmas holiday for me. Travelling to WI tomorrow and then back on Monday. Also Mona is in town so I will have to keep encouraging him to let me take him out for a burger. :)
